    Carlisle away

Carlisle seems to get a bit of unjustified stick as a bit of a grim place, but I think it's a lovely city. For me it's one of the nicest cities in the UK, and along with the location close to the Lakes, probably a damn nice place to live.

Lose the Gut Thread (Following on from New Year's Resolution)

Good to see people making an effort to improve their health. It's hard work and takes discipline, but if you stick at it the results can be substantial. My catalyst came from weighing myself one Christmas and being slightly over 100kg, despite "carrying it well". Unfortunately playing/training...

    Police in Lincoln

I went to a Lincoln vs Grimsby (possibly a cup match) in the mid 2000's and it was the heaviest police presence I've ever seen for an English game.

    All the best for season

Good luck Lincoln Imps. My brother was at Uni in Lincoln and had a number of good nights out there. We also took in the Lincoln vs Grimsby Derby which was quite tasty. Don't think I've ever seen so many police in attendance in this country for a game (although I have to admit being more...

    20 years ago today since....

Not wanting to put a negative slant on this... but even in our Premier League "glory years" there was so much negativity from the fans. People calling up Mercia saying they're never going again, after a narrow loss to a Spurs, Everton, etc. Perhaps if they had known what would ensue in the...

Phone in Tonight - Potentially something "big"

Seems like some people on this thread are blaming SISU for this guy seemingly being shown up as a bit of an amateur. Is there no end to what we can blame them for...?

    Prehistoric Robins and his favourites!

But if we lost 4-3 you'd be saying you'd take 0-0 instead. Clown.

    I can't say too much ..

I actually quite enjoyed Leicester's Premier League win (although I was praying for it fall apart in the last couple of games of the season), and have to say that I was positively chuffed about them outshining the 'big' premier league teams in the champions league. But then again I grew up in...

cov fans away compared to at home

To be fair that's a terrible song and pretty embarrassing, and not even funny. Nor does it even make sense... Perhaps the atmosphere from the West Terrsce didn't deafen the whole of Highfield Road, but to say it couldn't be heard is pretty inaccurate. As someone who stood in the "singing area"...

    GMK

Fantastic website. Sorry to say so on this forum, but it was far far superior, in the peak rivals days I lost weeks on end at work, laughing my head off. Sadly became renowned (somewhat unjustly) as a haven of "sisu apologists" which I think killed it off in a bigger way than any admin issues...

    Coventry city centre

How the hell have they managed to make the road situation around the railway station even worse than before...? They had a blank canvas to redo it in any manner they liked, and it's a monumental fuck-up... To get to the ring road you need to turn across the incoming traffic, onto a middle...

    Attendance against Exeter

I reckon 8500. The casual/fair weather supporter doesn't really care that we put in a good performance last weekend (for 45 minutes anyway). All they see if we lost to "fucking Cambridge". And as mentioned above, Exeter for the same reason will not be a draw to those fans, top of the league or not.

Which areas of Cov or out of town?

Longford/Foleshill/Holbrooks Tile Hill/Canley/Earlsdon Wyken/Binley Bedworth/Nuneaton In my considered opinion, based on absolutely no facts or statistics...

First Ever Cov Match You Saw ?

Home to Ipswich in 1992, sat in the family stand. Chris Kiwomya opened the scoring I think, possibly a rebound after a save. We went 2-1 up and it finished 2-2. Peter Ndlovu ran riot down the left wing for most of the game. First away game was Villa in the mid 90's on a weeknight. Absolutely...

Match Thread Cambridge United - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 16th Sep

My thoughts... First half we were very lacklustre, after a good first 7 or 8 minutes. Jones looked the liveliest but his full back didn't help out by basically standing behind him, leaving him to come all the way off the touch line with two players to beat every time. We were bullied by their...

    Tim Fisher

All the "heroes" who confronted and abused Tim Fisher today have done is spite themselves. Made themselves look like buffoons, whilst Tim Fisher walks calmly away as the better man.

    Tim Fisher

    Oh that's alright then.

    Tim Fisher

It's just common decency in public though, don't you think? Or perhaps you think going up to complete strangers and giving them a load of abuse is acceptable behaviour.

    Tim Fisher

Some absolute bullshit being written on here. The guy may be unpopular, but if city fans can't keep hold of themselves that they have to attack the guy (physically or verbally) when he's going home to his family then they need to re-evaluate their lives. Funny how the city fans are always in a...

    World Athletics Championship

We did 10 x 800m reps with 60 secs rest between each one, this week. Up there with the hardest track sessions I've done. That is a big amount of hard work, and that distance off only 60secs is incredibly tough to maintain. Great session. I need to get up to a Parkrun or something and see how...
