    Simon Gilbert

You've pretty much backed my point up there. Moff accused me of not "frothing at the mouth" over the comments against Simon Gilbert. I've not made any attempt to defend him, if he comes on here as a public figure, then I'm sure he knows he's going to get abuse. I rather suspect he doesn't care...

Personally I do not know Mr Gilbert, and I do not read the Telegraph or follow their website, so I do not know what people's problems are with him on here. I do think it's typical bully-boy mentality though, and half the people on here are happy to hide behind anonymity and make comments,whilst...

I'd also point out that Ben is as die-hard as it gets when supporting city, so when slating people at the Telegraph, please bear in mind that whatever your reasons, a lot of people there are just normal people like you and me who live in the city and support the side.

When you've finished commenting on people's appearance (which to my knowledge, has no reflection on their abilities as a journalist), then please feel free to PM me if you would like to comment further on your problems with Ben. In your defence, I'm sure you are one good-looking bastard, whilst...

    Pre-season 2017/18 - Tournament at Nuneaton

Benfica was way before that. 96 or 97 I reckon. Because we played Bayern Munich a year or two after whilst still in the Premier League, and fared a little better, I think we only lost 4-2 in that one. Incidentally the Bayern fans were the best I've ever seen from an away side at City.

    Pre-season 2017/18 - Tournament at Nuneaton

Cov vs QPR in Ibiza the summer before we started at the Ricoh, which then led to the trouble at our opening game at the Ricoh (vs QPR)... I would day not usually, but let's face it, City fans go down to the likes of Nuneaton and Hinckley every pre-season acting as if they are "taking over" the...

    Pre-season 2017/18 - Tournament at Nuneaton

Not 100% sure, it's possible that it's just their club policy. At Bedworth United, two further divisions below, you can do what you like. I would guess that they would be unlikely to relax this, let's face it, Us, Wolves, Rangers, Liverpool, Nuneaton.... Even if it was only youth teams and...

    Pre-season 2017/18 - Tournament at Nuneaton

They do have a bar/clubhouse adjacent to their 'end', although I don't think you can currently take drinks past the front door to go outside, and they don't currently serve alcohol out of the kiosk up at the away end.

Gary Hoffman on the phone in....

Correct. Seriously the chances of us returning to the Premier League in the next generation are, whilst not impossible, pretty slim. If SISU are (rightly) carrying the can for the last ten years, then surely any new owners carry that responsibility going forward, and any offer should not tie in...

Open letter from the club to fans

Whilst I am, like everyone else, mystified at the reasoning behind the letter, I have to say that as expected, people are being a bit harsh. You could take that letter word for word, and if it had been written by theoretical new owners, it would be getting praised to the hilt, however (as one...

    As A CCFC FAN

Good luck to them, anything that shows up the 'big clubs' in this country, along with the myth that the Champions League is some kind of pinnacle of football, when in fact it's just a cup competition. UEFA really made a mess of Europe didn't they. The European Cup was for the winners, then the...

What Would You Do On A Saturday ?

To be quite honest my commitment to following city home and away has gradually been waning for years. What really sealed it was going back several years when I was heavily into Muay Thai kickboxing, and really started to fall out of love with football, when I saw the fantastic effort people put...

Match Thread Coventry v Charlton Match Thread - Friday 14th Apr

What a boring bastard. Just because some people don't shoehorn SISU insults into every post, doesn't make them any less angry about the plight of our club.

    The Worst Matchday Experience

Derby seems to be the best of a bad bunch when it comes to the new stadiums. Always found their home fans to be reasonably noisy (although there's not much competition in this country, perhaps Wolves and Forest being two of the better ones as well). Although Derby knocking out over 25000 fans...

    The Worst Matchday Experience

Match day experience is far more than the view from your seat, and legroom. It's the location of the ground, proximity to decent facilities like public transport, town/city centre, atmosphere. Unfortunately the Ricoh is rightfully situated at the bottom of the pile. I've been to games in the...

    Sheffield united gate

As much as I detest Sheff Utd, I find it hard to comprehend our fans mocking them for a poor turnout last night. For god's sake we get 9000 every week. Yes can point to the fact we may well get more than 24k if we were on the verge of promotion, but where's the proof? We'd struggle to get 24k...

Fan ownership, why won't it work?

I've only scanned this thread so apologies if I've repeated anything... But I don't think anybody is saying it cant work, but it's highly likely that it won't work. As mentioned above, where do we start? How many people are required, how much will it cost individuals. Where will we play in...

City fans travelling from Warwick / Leam - Chiltern update

Yes but to be fair, with some of the questions asked on this site over the last month or so, seems like people could do with a few obvious facts pointing out. I mean, have some people never travelled by train/been to London/bought a ticket before in their life.... A lot of people just go to...

    Standing/Sitting at Wembley?

Completely agree with RB1992 above, if the city fans want to stand en masse they will... However I can't see it, the hardcore of the support is likely to be too diluted. As sad as it sounds, we really could have done with a designated 'singing area'.... Will do my best to stand up, I haven't...

    Other Sports Teams You Follow

Verona is a beautiful city. It's beautiful country, but I don't think people here realise how gritty it is around the edges. Spend some time around Milan Central Station after dark, or worse still, stumble through the red light area in Genoa at any time, and you'll find out. And people in the UK...
