Tbf despite the numbers, he hasn't really proven himself as striker in the championship, most of his goals and assists have been from playing off the left. So he's proved himself as a quality goalscoring left winger.

He was top scorer last season with 11 league goals and joint top scorer the previous season with 7. Thats not a lot of goals for £2.5m especially when you consider he was never going to be any more than 3rd choice for a system with a lone striker and now with Bassette has dropped to 4th choice...

Chelsea describe him as a versatile attacking player who can play left back, midfield or winger. From the highlights I've seen of him, he plays far more advanced than a left back and fair bit on the right wing.
