£5 tickets for Accrington - Community Day (1 Viewer)

I'm talking about wasps after all you keep saying we are doing the same as them

Doing exactly the same with free tickets which normally is ridiculed.
I guess we have more fans to give free tickets too ?
I'm not criticising though I think we need to do the same.
The downside is that we only get 15% of F & B so don't get the same benefits on the day.

It's only 3k sold at £5 we have 5k season ticket holders but still another week to go.
A lot of people who normally pay will have a good chance of free tickets so that probably has restricted it to 3K at the moment.
Anybody with any any interest in CCFC though has no excuse on financial grounds with £5 tickets and free parking.

Hoping for 30k now with a week to go.

I can't see it, other than we have gone big time on this.
tbh I kind of see your point. The Accrington gate won't be a 'true' crowd in terms of the number of 'actual' supporters there, anymore than Wasps' gates are.

Depends how you define 'actual' supporters. My wife is a teacher at a primary school in Cov and says demand has been massive, and it's coming from parents she knows to be city fans. Says she has spoken to a few and they are mostly people who have lost interest or who only go up now and again (with a few regulars taking up the offer too), exactly the people this offer was targetting. Also says it's refreshing to be giving out tickets for CCFC as they are flooded with Wasps freebies every week, but she does her best to discourage kids from going to watch those games, sees it as her civic duty

I reckpon a sell out officially. With just individual tIckets dotted around available.

Dont forget every corporate will be sold as well as premium for these prices.

Its gonna be one hell of an atmosphere.

Easily the biggest since sell out vs Crewe a few years ago.

That was 10 quid. So that was massive achievement to shift 32k tickets at 10 quid for a midweek game.

Cov Utd have been doing the rounds giving schools thousands of free tickets. None of the kids I teach kept them.

Both though are trying to encourage supporters to attend.
Wasps predominantly to get then onboard for the first time CCFC to get them back on board full time.
Wasps can recuperate free tickets by taking full advantage of other incomes while we are limited in that respect (at the moment).

But nobody in their right mind is going to see the attendance jump from its usual level to potentially 20K plus and think we're suddenly massively popular.

With Wasps its week in week out and they don't give any indication that a decent chunk of the attendance every week hasn't paid a penny.

Plus it's pretty up front in the wording:

Really hope this works and a good portion of those going on a freebie are encouraged to return on a regular basis. At the risk of getting boring this team deserves supporting.

Really hope our “marketing” department take the opportunity to sell JSB memberships too. Be an opportunity missed if they don’t. 1 adult season and a couple of JSB memberships is good value for money as far as family entertainment goes. I took my two roller skating last Sunday and it was £15 without skate hire, we were only there an hour. Cinema is no better.

We’re just not very good at selling ourselves sometimes, although someone did take notice of my marketing advice earlier in the season. No charge ;)

Hopefully, they will have all of the contact details of people so that could be a potential few thousand to the database to send offers to.

Having the database is the easy bit. It’s utilising it that’s important and it’s a labour intensive job following that lot up. I suspect that we may not have the bodies to do it to maximum effect. Which is a real shame.

I don't know what they use but in theory it should be pretty easy. Just have it as a group on the system that were gained by "Community Day" and then send out an offer to just that group. Same as how in theory they should be able to send out a mailshot to over 60's etc.

Obviously that's just for email / mailing, if it was phoning them it would be hard work.

If they’re distributing the tickets through schools do they still get the opportunity to create a data base?
