Remembering our first game last season was live on Sky with Eccles at RWB. He had a tough start that day but came into the game quite well by the end I thought.

That was a team that had just come up from Division 1, not a team just coming down from the Premier league.

I think Leicester are a far bigger challenge,
However, we've got to play them at their place at some time, so the first game might be as good as any. Maybe we can catch them out before they get into a run.

Team is what people should of expected, always not going to play players who haven't played a game for us yet preseason and it's not the game really for Sakamoto at RWB.

at least Robins should make some subs this Season

I've seen Eccles have good games and bad games in this position. Think the start will be key for his confidence.

Yeah when were 3.0 down.

Mark Robins is so conservative, but I did predict it.

What was the old saying, Go for it City.
Conservative? By not playing p;layers without any preseason game time? Or do you think we should play Sakamoto at RWB against one of the best teams in the league?

Hopefully one of the weaker sides we’ll put out all season in the league

its only Wright and Van Eijke short of the strongest isn’t it? Until o hare is fit

Both teams will start slow today but I’m backing out subs to come in and make an impact to win us the game!

I’m bed ridden with a strong variant of ‘man flu’ so a win today would be brilliant for my mood!

I was out last night so missed it all - my post yesterday escalated and sparked unexpected debate! Different perspectives are always good, but some absolute dinosaur thinking.

And for the record, no need to worry I’m not under the thumb or being controlled. I have decided to prioritise my partner’s birthday. I also absolutely love this club - it’s possible to do both.

Anyway, got it on in the car on my phone so all good.

The trick is to get your missus so obsessed with CCFC that she takes Sky Blue Sam to bed instead of you.

Watching this just outside Cork Eire. (Note to all, Sky Go works in Eire atm. Only saying this because I thought I’d need VPN or IFollow).

Starting line up looks like MR has had a bang on the head - can only assume the idea is to use the subs to max effect and go for pace in the break second half.

The problem there is that Leicester can also sub in fresh leg defenders.

Those who are disappointed about the team selected for today have not been watching Robins for the last 6 years. Two rules he seems to apply fairly consistently :-

1. He values continuity. Last year's success was built a core of players who had been there 2-4 years.
2. He rarely throws new players in straight away. This time he had to, but he has not gone overboard.

Personally I'd have played the Dutch guy and Bidwell rather than Eccles and Da Silva. But Da Silva has been with the club since the end of last season, so maybe that swung it. Not much to choose.

Lati is shorter than Godden

Got help us at set pieces if we have a side of Saka, Dasilva, Allen, O'Hare and Hamer all in the starting line up.
