I feel there has been constant downplaying of the budget. Was claimed our budget was mid table for League 1 but the subsequent accounts and agent fees show that to be unlikely.
Our budget would have no doubt have been towards the bottom end but lower than Wycombe’s I would be amazed.
re League 1 have checked the 23 clubs
Not possible to get all the info on turnovers from Co House - not all companies have filed accounts yet. Some that have dont have to provide the detail. So missing info on 10 (Wycombe, Fleetwood, Doncaster, Gillingham, Ipswich, Bristol Rovers, Accrington, MK Dons, Southend & Bolton)
But it also depends on what you class as "income" not many League 1 teams make player sales of over £4m as we did in 2019/20 and the year before. Of the clubs i could look at only Oxford with £5.8m had better player sales income the rest were at least £1m less than CCFC some didnt even make it over £100k
Of those i could find detail on, then if you include player sales we are 5th with Sunderland (32m) unsurprisingly but also Portsmouth (£13m), Oxford(£12m) having more, with Rotherham being £250k more than us. We had £9.4m income on that basis
The missing ones are unlikely to be more than us with the exception of Ipswich perhaps
League positions CCFC 1st, Rotherham 2nd Oxford 4th Portsmouth 5th Sunderland 8th
