Thing is Ferret, an awful lot more of us would do it, if not for the fact we are so vehermently against the move to Northampton that to travel to Northampton when the whole point is of Northampton being too far to travel to due to the enormous distance it is from Coventry would all be a bit hypocritical.

I won't travel to Northampton because it is 34 miles away, but am expected to travel 34 miles away to protest that I will not travel 34 miles away.

I think there are thousands like me who would love to protest but feel it contradictory to say we won't travel the distance, but then travel the distance to prove we won't travel the distance!

People are entitled to their principles, fine, I get that. Logistically it might be difficult for some, but for those who drive 34 miles is down the road really, and there were free coaches the other day so if people wanted to go they could. It's 35 mins away.

I suspect people are staying away on principle, that's fine. I doubt there is anybody out there who really wants to go but can't for logistical reasons. If there is I will happily give them a lift.

Nick - you say ......"I could sit and post them in every thread on a forum? That would really show them."

Don't your thoughts and those of all of us vehemently opposed to this suicidal and insane stay in Northampton count for nothing then? Is public opinion not a factor in changing things? Do you have no faith in this forum you've created (Thank You) for it to be a vehicle of change, to influence outcomes? No faith in in your actions and opinions and views? As a collective we could be a force here. What could be a force for making a stand is instead a 'sitting on the fence - wait to see what Sisu do next place.'
You Nick, set the tone. But much like the Sky Blue Trust, it is lukewarm, insipid. No leadership in the face of the meltdown of our club.
Nothing against you personally, we don't know you. You are probably a very decent bloke, sure you are. Yet SBT could be influential, but it isn't. Ditto the Sky Blue Trust.

Not so long ago you were saying you weren't going to go again.

It doesn't matter how many coaches they put on, nobody should be going.

In a way i hope sisu take the club and stay there, you lot can have your wank franchise and we'll start again.

Think there are a fair few who can't go for logistical reasons to be fair, Ferret. It's not just that it's 34 miles, it's the fact of the travel time too.

When we were at the Ricoh I could get there for 2.15. This would be my going straight from my home (having got home just after 2 p.m.) I was only 5 mins drive away.

To get to Northampton I would not make it to the ground for 3 p.m. I always got home for about 5 past 5 and that enabled my wife to go to work and me to look after my daughter. If I went to Northampton I wouldn't get back in time either. I'm sure there's loads of people with other commitments.

This is only an issue for me on Sundays though I hasten to add.

What would you do Otis?

About what? Protest you mean?

I really liked the idea of thousands turning up at the Ricoh every home game and having a bit of a rally and barbecue, kick about, whatever. Thousands turning up in Cov every home game to make the point that is where the club should be.

You haven't a clue about how the thousands like me feel, youre another selfish sod that can't see further than his own needs.

Oh please. Selfish? What I do has no impact whatsoever on you or your feelings. What you do is up to you, you can go to Sixfields or not go, either way it will have no impact whatsoever on when the club returns.

The whole thing is a disgrace that is not of mine or your making, so I will not blame myself because I continue to watch CCFC, and I don't blame you because you don't.

Well don't patronise me on how i and thousands of others feel cos you haven't got a clue.

How do you know that if you all stayedaway it wouldn't have an impact on what would happen next?

The trouble is your to selfish to try.

When the shit eventually hita the fan when sisu don't get the Ricoh it'll be you lot squealing the loudest when they wind the lot up.

Yep, I changed my mind. It's allowed.

Your final point makes no sense. Nobody would support the club is they stayed there. There is no franchise and never will be. We all want a return to Coventry asap, but that will only happen in one of two ways - SISU buy the Ricoh or the club dies completely. That's it. On that basis you should either be calling on ACL to sell or be putting your weight behind a new start-up club - but you are doing neither, you are doing nothing constructive whatsoever, just moaning and throwing insults at people.

I fear if the club did get wound up then a lot of fingers would be pointing at all those who didn't go to Sixfields in terms of who was to blame.

My circumstances mean I can't go to a lot of them else I would :(

Same here Nick.

I feel my club has been taken away from me, so the only way I would get to see the City is if I went to away games, but that is simply not possible.

Id rather plead with acl not to hand thericoh over. Why the hell should sisu profit from something my city owns after the way theyve treated us?

Id rather start again.

Fine. Your agenda (given that you oppose the idea of CCFC owning the Ricoh) is to force the club out of business. That is your stated preference, fine if you're honest about it. It's a bit rich though for you to use the term 'selfish' when you openly admit you want the club to die. Called me old fashioned, but I'll be honest and say I'd quite like CCFC to stick around.

For what it's worth, if the club do go under I won't squeal about it or point fingers, I would have to support the new club like everyone else. It is all very avoidable though but some very selfish individuals actively want it to happen. So sad.

What is needed to make this happen? Otis

Not sure. There seemed to be a lot of support of such an idea on here when it was mooted. Perhaps we should kick start the idea again.

I think if more turned up at the Ricoh every home game than did at Sixfields it would show that the support for the club is still there, but that we simply will not follow them to Northampton.

Maybe the SBT or KCIC could kick start this one again. I will not bring myself to go on the hill. I will not travel 34 miles away as I feel that defeats the object of my protest.

Each and every to their own though and if that is what they feel they should do, I won't knock them for it.

I also don't mind if Sisu buy the Ricoh either, as long as there are caveats in place to protect it for the people of Coventry.

Question is tho nick, do you not think the remaining 8,000 don't want to just watch a game of football?

8000? Were getting 20k a game when sisu rolled into town.Thats over 17k fans they have alienated.

What excellent business people they are.

Why would the club die?

Yes I want the club to own the ricoh but not under sisu, the club wont own it anway.

Why don't you plead with sisu to walkaway?

Happy to get involved. People don't even need to be there all day. Just turn up for kick off and stay an hour or so. Whatever people can spare. Could get speakers from the SBT or KCIC to say a few things too.

Get people to bring their portable barbecues or whatever and just turn up and have a gathering.

No I don't want the club to die.

Can you explain why sisu need to own the freehold on the ricoh then?

I thought this was all about rent and pie sales?

@ theferret....."you are doing nothing constructive whatsoever, just moaning and throwing insults at people."......................................................................................................And what exactly are YOU doing that is constructive, and don't give it the "I'm supporting the team" shit either! If you want to go to Sixfields, then go, but the ones that do go, in many peoples eyes are being selfish in the respect of "I'm watching the boys play, while the rest of you lot can think of ideas to get CCFC back to Coventry. Simple as that really!

The only way out of this mess (that I can see) is for SISU to buy the Ricoh and sell it on. They will not walk away and hand the club over, but they might walk away and liquidate the whole thing. That would be bad no?

I don't think they need the freehold, but I think they would take leasehold ownership for a fair price.

I can't stand them, and the JR is just petty, spiteful and unnecessary, but I will not allow my dislike of them to take precedence over my love of Coventry City (to the extent that I want my own club to die simply to get one over the evil hedge fund). If buying the Ricoh opens the exit door for them I am all for it.

But it doesn't look they will be sold the ricoh at a knockdown price and why should they?

Not everyone in the city is a football fan.Sisu have made a mistake, they took a gamble and lost so tough shit on them.

Id honestly rather start again from scratch than carry on with them, thats how much I cant stand them.

Couldn't give a shit if they hold the freehold or not, just want the club to have access to all the revenues it possibly can, so we as a club can be as successful as we possibly can be. the whole point of moving there in the first place all those years ago. That was the idea wasn't it?
