People shouldn't panic

TM & MV are not stupid

For all we know And I'm pretty sure the case is Sordell has signed a contract but it can't be registered with the football league and announce due to their website. Maybe the rules state we can't announce it until it's been confirmed by the Football league?

Haven't we made announcements in the past which stated "subject to clearance by the FL", or words to that effect?

Yes, once you've submitted the paperwork you have technically made the transfer but the authorities could reject it. Don't think that's ever actually happened.

From what other clubs have been saying the problem here is the system for submitting the paperwork isn't working.

The websites for all football league clubs are ran by a external company (that's why they all look the same with the same template layout) so the football club submits the articles to this company, then they publish them on the website. so the issue maybe at that end and why its affected other clubs.

Bit weird isn't it. Plenty of ways to get the news out there if the website isn't working.

I think Sordell is a very good player at this level. Thomas is unproven but so was armstrong. Time will tell let's just get behind them both!

I remember him looking really good for Watford, bags of pace, obviously things have
gone a bit oblong for him for whatever reason.
If he signs, at our level it has to be viewed as a positive thing and I for one would be
very pleased.

I find your comment very odd. Why would I make up something like that. I have friends who support other clubs and two of them said their club had similar problems yesterday, one is a Swindon fan and the other a Bristol City supporter. Of course the problem could be CCFC's website problem but all I'm saying is that other clubs experienced the same situation of not getting paperwork into the FA as their site was having problems because is was over-used.

Loan fees never get revealed do they? Given that most contracts at this level are 1 or 2 year its not hard to imagine that some season long loan fees aren't too far off permanent signing fees.

If its more than a permanent signing then that would seem a bit strange. I guess if the player being loaned was proven quality.

That was my obviously too subtle point. As there's a problem with the system as a whole its a bit odd for our club to say we can sign someone as they can't post it on the website. I suspect there's been a miscommunication between the management and the communications team.

I was saying the standard of the two new lads up front will not match what we had from last season.
My post was in response to some eternal optimist saying how the new lads could be good. They might be but I will reiterate they will not be as good as Adam Armstrong.

How people interpreted that as me commenting on the squad I really don't know.

TM obviously has time to get it right in the transfers department and I hope we get a few stand out signing as opposed to freebies who were on loan in our league Last year.

I remember when we signed Armstrong 90% of people was like who the fuck is he and moaned their arses off about that signing as well at the time.

Lets hope we get some good results in pre season or else this place will go into meltdown like last pre season.

The two signings don't really excite me, they feel more like options off the bench rather than starters but we will make a lot more signings between now and August,
