This thread must have broken the record for the number of times the word “concerned” has been used
I'm concerned that you have bothered to count all the posts which contain the word "concerned" and you are then concerned enough to comment about the word "concerned" being used

He was a great player for us so hope he finds somewhere to play but I feel as if I’m on a different planet to some of our fans, he scored 2 goals in the SPL last season.

Spot on. Why can't we just appreciate a former player for what they did & move on?
He was sensational for us in League 2 but has failed everywhere else since & as we know isn't exactly the most professional. What on earth, other than nostalgia, makes anyone think he could do a job in the Championship?

Seriously wtf is wrong with some of our fans!?
Some of the replies...
"Have him back in a heartbeat" 🤦🏼‍♂️

Was he a one season fluke or just not fitted into the Reading model. He certainly isn’t rubbish but hasn’t anywhere near repeated that season when he got his 28 goals plus a decent few assists, wouldn’t have him back though.

Maybe he will prosper again when he gets a permanent move from Reading

I get the feeling looking at his twitter account, and to a certain extent from the early part of his career here, that he suffers a bit with his mental health / motivation and the uncertainty since he left won't help that at all.

I don’t think it’s either- he was good enough for League Two but doesn’t have the ability to score goals higher up.

No shame in that, and I hope he gets back to scoring goals somewhere but now he’s (presumably) financially set, I also hope he sets his sights a little more realistically if he thinks of moving again

If we are selling Godden then Mcnulty on a free would be a good replacement

No he wouldn't. Will always be grateful to him for the League 2 season but that is his level.

McNulty was great that season, but has clearly had problems maintaining fitness (you only had to watch a few of his games in Scotland to see that) Technically very good. Perhaps off field stuff has distracted him. Whatever, we should always be grateful for that one season - plus it was great when he made a guest appearance at the Leamington & Warwick supporters club Christmas quiz (we had to guess the identity of about 10 players who were dressed up as Santa - McNulty was a curved ball !) Good luck to him

Seems we waiting for prem sides to finalise their squads but be nice to have some indication what players we are looking at

till the ITK posters say anything it could mean we are far away from a signing perhaps

In an interview last week Robins was hopeful of having a couple of loans sorted within 10 days, so there should be some news soon.

11/12 we signed Murphy and Dunn I think

Yep, just them 2. Cody McDonald then signed a few weeks into the season (not like that improved it much!).

Doubly infuriating as it was the same off-season that we lost Westwood, King, Gunnarsson & Turner for next to nothing. Relegation seemed inevitable before we even kicked off & Thorn's management made it certain.

Get preseason wrong and you’re a goner, it’s impossible to recover from, we saw that in 00/01 as well

He didnt have a good season here though did he, he actually had a good HALF season! And that was at league 2 level ffs.

He had a real purple patch, which eventually got us out of that division, but he's done fuck all since other than make some big money.
Thanks for the memories Mark, but we've moved on now.
