We were rumoured to be looking at Lawrence Shankland. Seems to have a good record in the Scottish Prem. Might be out of our price range though. Possibly could do a job in the Championship, but a gamble, which I suppose is like any transfer.
His scoring exploits have slowed right down now he’s in the SPL, 7 in 28 this season

James yes the rest not so sure. Kelly and McFadzean personally i would keep but i suspect they want longer than 1 year contracts which i wouldnt offer. Biamou should not be offered any length contract he isnt up to the standard required.
McCallum will be loaned to a higher placed team than us. Not point in Norwich sending him here again he learns nothing new.
We need 2 CB agreed as Ostigard wont be back despite the love for him. 1 LB definitely 1 AM as O'Hare cant play all the time and needs competition. No point signing wide players as Robins doesnt use them
A lot depends on the outgoings though. Can we shift any or all of the below:
Jobello, Kastaneer, Hillssner, Allen, Shipley, Mason and likely Marosi
Biamou been vital for us a few times this season, personally think he’s weirdly bashed on here. If I was a CB playing against Cov, I’d rather play against Godden or Walker that’s for sure.
No reason McCallum can’t do another year here, guaranteed game time vs. risking game time elsewhere.
Well there’s been a couple of occasions this season where Robins tried to playing with wide attacking mids, but we don’t have the players to do it. I think he’ll try and get a couple of those types in to give us another option. He’ll have all the stats we struggle in the final third, be stupid to not do anything about it.

1 in 4, I suppose it’s similar to what we already have.

In a poor league. He's miles off the standard needed.
Godden & Walker have better scoring ratios at a much higher level.

We scouted Shankland at the same time as Rose, we were in L1 then & he was available on a free but we still decided he wasn't up to it. Looks that we have been proven right (so far). This season he's been outscored by 37 year old winger Chris Burke who was playing for practically the worst team in the league.

Why not he was great in League 2 season with us, he could form his partnership with max again

U have just answered your own question.

League 2 material not championship quality, he was a top player for us in league 2 and I thank him for his services but we need better than godden or walker to be able to compete in the championship.

If Norwich decide to loan out McCallum again here would be as good as any other Championship side. Makes no difference to them how successful the team is, it's about experience at the level. However I wouldn't be surprised if they put him in their squad next year. They will have been monitoring his progress this year.

I can't see any takers for Kastaneer or Jobello but I think we could for the others. Hillssner would probably return to Germany.

IMO we need

Starting GK (Westwood anyone?)
2 new CBs
LB
James
Liam Walsh (do a straight swap for O'Hare + maybe a bit of cash and laugh about the daylight robbery)
New AM
Couple of wingers (Ashley Cain + 1 other)
New striker
(Westwood) is a funny spelling for Ben Wilson

It's about playing different styles and with different players. He won't learn anything new playing for us again will he?

Fair point, although there's a risk loaning him out somewhere else that the experience won't be a positive one.

Neither did Kyle McFadzean.

Or Godden really he was relatively high priced and with his age never going to be a player to get you a big return back

James Collins has just scored his 10th of the season, making it two 10+ goal Championship seasons in a row after getting 26 in his last League 1 season, but he's not enough of an upgrade on Biamou for some people here.
10 goals for the season including pens, hes 30. Very weird obsession some on here have with him. If Luton are letting him go why would he be good enough for us.
