Not sure where Walsh would have fitted into our first team with Hamer also with Kelly, O’Hare, Sheaf, Eccles, Bapaga too I still expect another midfielder to be signed though.
Well if rumours are correct we wanted James and Walsh so that would suggest we can expect 2 more …

To be fair, didn't you think they were all shit before we even played our first pre-season game ;) ?

Just Moore I’ve got serious concerns over so far. Waghorn I just think is past it, and not better than what we’ve got, and expensive. But shit is an overstatement.

I'm not sure a few comments from players on podcast, specifically elicited by the podcast presenters I might add, should hold as much value as the obvious on pitch benefits that he brought.

It isn't really worrying it's just a gamble.

Yeah and in the same podcast the same players acknowledged he was an unbelievable player who they thought would go on to play in the Europa League at least.

Even though Waghorn has more championship experience and goals than any of our other players..............

Well last season he didn’t. He’ll score around ten a season which is what all our strikers were on for if they’d played a whole season. Except they’re younger, cheaper, and a known quantity.

If he was adding something the others don’t in terms of pace or power fair enough, but I don’t see the use of three similar strikers when we have a limited budget. You are free to disagree.

Oh i do disagree massively. Whichever way you want to spin your opinion he is a huge upgrade on Biamou or Bakayoko. In the whole championship last season only 15 players scored more than 10 goals in the whole season. Therefore we are, on your stats, signing a top 20 championship striker and you feel this is shit. Therefore debate over as you are clearly clueless.

So this guy, who played in the Championship last season and wasn’t in the top twenty, is a guaranteed top twenty striker? And won’t get worse as he enters his 30s?

But our strikers who scored more in less time in their first season are guaranteed not to and will get worse despite one being 23?

And Baka and Biamou don’t play for us. If he was signed to replace them then I’m even more concerned at the rumoured >£10k/wk wages.

Waghorn has always been part of a unit never a player who is a focal point of a team. He works endlessly to create pressure on defenders, I do think he is a better finisher than Baka and Max and has played at a higher level for a longer period of time than both. He is a good squad addition and in my opinion will be liked by the fans aswell as the players. Not going to smash 25 goals in but in my opinion a better option than the 2 that have been let go.

Agree. Waghorn will work very hard for us, is an established Championship striker who Derby paid £5m for only a couple of seasons ago and he was very good in the season they got to the play off final.

Last season he was in an absolutely horrendous Derby side with an inept manager. I think this fresh start and better service could bring the best out of him again.

Was a key player for them in that last game of the season which kept them up.

I think they're probably holding off so they can do it with the kits tomorrow.
They seem to like drip feeding news.
Why would they want the kit reveal overshadowed by the signing announcement (or vice- versa).?
That's two opportunities for a top news story
