I was replying to someone implying he would walk. Why on earth would he? The paradox is new owners always get new managers - so of course he wants them to stay
Where did I imply that he would walk? I said that we won't progress beyond lower mid table whilst SISU are still in charge and I'm sure you probably agree.

And if SISU did sell why on earth would new owners get rid of Robins?

Whilst SISU are still in charge we will never progress to higher than where we are now. If we have serious ambitions to progress beyond a lower mid table championship club they must go. If they are not going to back the best manager we've had since the 60s after everything he's done I think it's pretty clear that they do not care about the club. Robins knows the constraints and I'm sure he won't be asking for much - just a little extra to help secure one or two key signings. The last 4 seasons have taken the spotlight off SISU thanks to Robins but they have not all of a sudden become good owners who care about the success of the club like some think. Anyone who thinks we can move forward with this lot in charge is frankly deluded. We need rid of them before we end up back in league one which will happen within a few years.

Is there anyone waiting in the wings to take over, though? I can’t imagine we’re an attractive proposition. Sadly SISU may be the best we can hope for.

So a week before Seville, I wonder if we are going to be able to or have already got a Left back in, if not a lot of pressure on Reid. For me a LB then another CB are a priority, followed by AM (possibly Bright), and a DM, unless there is another keeper on the way in, I would be fairly satisfied. Has anyone heard anything other then McCallum for the LB spot?

The defence as it stands is weaker than it was last season when we conceded over 60 goals. Sure we are working hard on it but I’m getting summer of 2016 vibes from how things are going.

He’ll know that. One thing I would say is rose and Dabo weren’t the players we know they are last season through injury. Those two fit could be like a couple of signings right there

Why? I don't get it. I'm not getting those vibes at all. Literally 5 weeks yesterday our season starts.
We 100%will be strengthening the defence but we don't want to get anybody in we want to get quality. People who will improve us, that isn't as easy.

Robins has already said a couple of players will be loans but we have to wait for the. For all we knower could be one and another Left Back.

When I reflected on the number of key players that were unavailable or clearly playing despite being 100%, the squad did a great job. We missed Dabo, Rose, Kelly & Godden for significant periods.
If we can start the season with Dabo, Rose and Godden fit.....that would put the club in a better position than the start of last season. Obviously, Kelly is a doubt.

Rose looked good the end of season. I thought Dabo looked alright too last season tbh - didn't get the mediocre ratings he got from some.

You really are a glass half empty guy....so far we have signed 5 players and we are just under a month away from the season starting. The manager has said that things are bubbling away in the background but are slower than previous years. I agree the defence lacks depth at the moment but to compare it with 2016 is just premature in my humble opinion.

Not quite, that summer was a total disaster. That summer we had a team of loans and players all leave us.....Cole, Armstrong, maddison, Murphy, fleck, Vincelot etc and we're left with real bare bones, and panic loaned some lousy players last minute to replace. This team is still basically still the league 1 winning team with added walker, hamer and of course the ones that have come on this season so far. I'm sure our transfer system is far better than it was then and will come good

I’m looking at it as it is and not necessarily blaming the manager for it, we are going in for players who will be more in demand by better sides with our recruitment reputation meaning the same sides can simply scoop whoever we’re looking at.

It isn’t quite the same reason as Mowbray going all in on players out of our league but the outcome may be.

Hardly, I wasn’t overly concerned by the lack of activity last month. Just as above we are competing for players who are more sought after than years gone by. Also always said I am sure the club is working hard on targets.
