I used to drive to Cov games at HR, and it was a darn site more expensive to park on match days than it was for reserve games !
But you know that, you just want to keep up the arguement for some reason
No it isn't. In that case they would have doubled the price for the Crewe JPT game - Did they?
Is the parking really the issue here? They have let a team representing our closest rivals play in our stadium (and I don't care what anyone says, it's ours). I am not okay with that.

How much did they charge against Arseley in the cup versus the JPT semi final?
What a load of shite.
How else can ACL make the Ricoh pay its own way.
Covpete you are complete idiot.
I can be pretty confident to say that should Old Trafford ever host a Man City Under 21 game, it would be cheaper to park near the ground than it would be for a Man Utd 1st team game. You dont agree ?
So how come Manchester United shared Main Road with Manchester City in the past with both teams playing their fixtures there on a temporary basis?
So what form of protest are you planning? Non attendance?
I thought it was generally accepted that the CVA depended on two conditions;
10 year lease
Stop the Judicial Review

I thought it didn't need a football team

When Tesco have a memorial garden for the ashes of former customers you can then compare ccfc with a supermarket. Until then, the comparison ignores the politics and complexities of the ccfc situation. As I said previously, pro acl posters make as little sense as pro sisu ones. No one seems to be able to offer a good reason for acl hosting this beyond making some money (in which case is this going to be a big money earner? seems doubtful) or else they are desperate for every penny (the pro acl people deny this) - so what is the motive for hosting the game?
Big flaw in that is that it would never happen in the first place.
So how come Manchester United shared Main Road with Manchester City in the past with both teams playing their fixtures there on a temporary basis?
Quite. But don't dare criticize ACL. If Sisu had pulled something like this there would be people outside Tim Fishers kids school.

Surely if It ain't about the money ,As galling/annoying/Offensive some may fiind it,It must be symbolism that they will not wait, cannot wait while Rome burns.
It may be bluff like the new Stadium ,it may not be ,like the new Stadium, but they have to prepare us fans for the eventuality that we may not be able to return should they attract another serious entity to use the Stadium, whether It's percieved as realistic or not,It could become a reality.
And if SISU moved our club 34 miles away from Coventry all attendees at the games would protest.
There may be many valid things to criticise them for, taking too long to make reduced rent offers would be a good one, but letting a football match take place on a football pitch doesn't offend too many people.
What on earth are you talking about? I think ccfcway is basically describing supply and demand pricing.
To be fair, you are right. I'm angry at the fact we aren't playing there.
Good man, I'd willingly share my Minstrels with you, they calm any situation (Kofi Annan swore by them). We'll get Grendel round, he can tell us about that bloody Arseley game (again).
To be fair, you are right. I'm angry at the fact we aren't playing there.
I can't take it anymore... It's Arlesey.
Sorry for the pedantism (is that a word).
Some sense at last. Wingy, if you're at Bristol on tuesday I'll buy you a pint!
No it isn't. In that case they would have doubled the price for the Crewe JPT game - Did they?
That would have been stupid, absolutely stupid, parking would have been 4x ticket price, it would have generated immense ill will and possibly not brought in more money as people rebelled.
your pricing being very strongly influenced by supply and demand doesn't necessarily mean massive demand massive pricing as there are large downsides to that.
This isn't subsidised parking, it's presumably the price they think is reasonable that will maximise revenue. If they charged £10 revenue would be lower, You'd be completely nuts to pay £10 to park at the ricoh for a reserve game when you can park in Tescos instead. I know you can for the main games too but there are people there to prevent it and you risk a big fine, or at least having to spend £20 before you leave. That said this is what we do now (or did before Sisu fucked it up) park at Tesco, have a pizza after the game, leave, the car park attendants have gone by then and it would probably be fine with the pizza hut receipt if they hadn't.
Were ACL making profits out of Coventry city fans with their parking prices, absolutly, were they a rip off, absolutely, though that is the norm for parking at event stadia, worst being the 02, £30 to park, £21 if you pay in advance, £28 in a wheelchair, £13.50 in a wheelchair in advance, cost us £50 for a disabled space at silverstone last year. ACL were charging what they thought would maximise their revenues, just like most the companies in the world. Charging £3 for this game won't be subsidised, it will be what they think will bring them the most money.
