He must be injured, I can't believe he wouldn't have played in at least 1 of the last 2 friendlies had he been fit.

Surely he's about to be sold/released to another club like McPake due to his high wages? We can't afford Wood.

Otis has been in anger management classes ever since Bell signed a contract extension...

Bless him

So having an opinion is the same as shouting?

Most of us should STFU then

The idea is not to agree with each other, but to have a debate with each other politely. Otis is just about always polite.

Rarely right, but always polite ;) :D

Probably but they surely must have known that the couldnt afford his wages when they put in the accounts prior to preseason starting so why play him at Hinckley and in Scotland. That's what puzzles me. If they had of received abut before Saturdays match surely he would have completed the move by now?

If your highest earner is fit and good enough you play him. If a club comes in for him and you want rid you then stop playing him in case he gets injured.

Quite simple really.

Yeah, but if a club had come in for him, surely he'd h e already left. You you'd only stop playing him on accepting a firm offer.

If they are in negotiations and the club after him are not willing to pay him what he is on with us it could take much longer than normal.

Are we getting ready for a Wood out Barton in announcement? Part of any fee paying for Barton?

True but I would have thought the CET would have got a sniff of the story if that was the case - they knew about Turners move to Cardiff, McPake to Hibs, bigi to newcastle, Keogh to Derby moves quite early. If we'd have expected a bid it would've been in the press by now, if only to stir up a bidding war. Very few of our transfers remain secret.

Yep. Definitely a racist post and overtly against Lurches.

If I was a Lurch I would be most offended. Luckily the I only ethnic group I have ever belonged to is The Tufty Club.

I was going to say the opposite - many of midfielders seem multi-functional but not especially great in any one position!

not sure that is opposite CJP ...... surely the fact that the midfielders are so interchangeable proves how similar they are and how we lack variation. None really put their stamp on a position. We seem to be basing the squad on players being interchangeable ..... jacks of all trades masters of none. I dont think we are so far apart in what we are both saying :)

In the hope of getting this thread back on track... a mate of mine is a Preston season ticket holder (who can sometimes be a bit negative!!!). He text the following about Barton - "He HAD great potential, but is lazy, unfit, thick as shit, and more interested in being a rock star. IF he recovers from broken leg worth a 12 month contract. Great passer and drives forward, never tracks back and knackered after 60 mins"

Him and Fleck sounds like they could be peas in a pod. I personally think he is well worth a gamble for £125k!

Thick as shit? Since when has knowledge had any relation to football?

Nothing at all 'racist' about my post.. You have to ask yourself the question as to who you'd rather face in midfield, lurchy Adam Barton or a big athletic Olofinjana?

But is Olofinjana strong because he's black or because he's erm.. well.. strong? Should we get Alex Nimely in to provide a bit of bite in midfield? He's black so he must be big and strong right?

It was undoubtedly a racial stereotype.

Alex Nimely is considerably strong for his height and build, yes. I wouldn't play him in midfield however, due to the fact that he's a striker.
