Ive never once (knowingly ) wanked furiously over getting 30,000 gates at the ricoh, I just want to makIf e that clear.
The fact is, although its our first ever play offs, the pull of division1 isn't really that appealing. We've been there before, its almost as cack as where we are now.
The step up really comes in division 1 play offs - there is almost a mini premiership in the championship. The difference in the size of the clubs in the Championship and division 1 is huge on the whole . If Charlton can only get 14,000 then I think that's poor, but have they still got issues with their owners, enough to put them off ? I wouldn't expect less than almost a full house at the Ricoh for that one.

Charlton had 2 days less than us to sell tickets so it must have been a logistical nightmare. I dread to think howw CCFC would have coped with trying to sell out a whole stadium from scratch in 5 days flat.

Based on the 12.5% share that the club will receive, an extra 10k on the date may only generate 20k of income. Could it be that SISU are actively discouraging a larger crowd in order to avoid incurring additional costs which outweigh the benefit received? I understand that Wasps will charge by the number of blocks open and you are potentially looking at extra policing costs and staff costs.

Portsmouth I believe hold the record for a L2 play off semi final v Plymouth in 2016. 17,622.

As a minimum I expect us to be able to top that.

Mainly by the reluctance to open extra blocks, which was my understanding at the time I posted. Maybe that theory is out of the window now! Still the point re the additional financial benefit to the club of a larger crowd still stands.

Surely they need to fill the blocks up in order rather than just open the ground and have people scattered about?

I very much doubt Joy is sat there in the ticketmaster control panel either opening up blocks.

There is no substantial boycott. And if there is they’ve been replaced with the same number of new fans so it doesn’t matter.

Put it this way: it’s the highest league finish and biggest home game of my life and I’m nearly 40. It should be a sell out.

Agreed about the bopycott and new fans, but that math's doesn't add up: I'm nearly 42 and it's the lowest league position of my lifetime!

How much does fratton park hold? Think our crowd being bigger will be the fact that we can hold more so you’d risk a walk up on the day.
