Some are taking this out of context. A win and maybe a Wembley trip will help the confidence etc but by the time that Wembley day comes around the league will have all been sorted.
My concern is the practicable one. I worry playing more games than we need to means more injuries, fatigue and ultimately defeats in league games. I just want to get out of this league and we have a chance to make it this season.
Just why there is quite so much excitement about a trophy that will have zero meaning is beyond me a little. Winning does keep building a bit of form and confidence runs through to leahue form but equally it usually ends in tears and league form suffers. the big prize is the promotion challenge.
Don't get me wrong it would be great to see us have some modicum of success by getting to Wembley but not if there is a heavy price.
If we could gain a playoff position and get to Wembley then that would be success but I'd give up Wembley in a heart beat to get a playoff spot.
Its just the practicality nothing else. I see the romantics viewpoint but let us others have our perfectly reasonable view.
In my view having a season ticket doesn't necessarily make you a supporter. I regard you as a fan and not a supporter. Only you could put a negative spin on an incredible night like tonight.
it would be great if we went all the way, yes it isn't an FA cup final but we have to take that into the context and situation we are currently in, we are a league one club so this is our realistic FA cup final! However there is a long, long way to go.
I couldn't care less what side Sheffield utd played tonight, I don't care how we played. The fact is we beat them and they were the best side in the competition and now we are only 2 matches away from Wembley. If I was a player I would love to play at Wembley so this might be a factor in mcgoldrick staying if he goes then 2 nil- nil draws and win on pens and we are at wembley. A little bit of success for all supporters no matter if they go every week or once every 25 years... This club has been so hard to follow for the last 15 years just give us a bit of success because after all the misery this makes success taste even better. After all man utd , arsenal, Chelsea fans will never ever feel how we all felt after we lifted up the fa cup in 1987 and that is why we all love this club..
Ps SISU out
This is a welcome distraction from the league for me. I would love us to win it but if we don't win I won't be fussed too much about it.
i would not be devasted if we get knocked out as it hasn't got the same buz as the real cup, yet this is where we are at Div 3 team in Div 3 & 4 cup.
For anyone under 30 it would be the first taste of success as a Sky blue fan, so i can appreciate why some are more excited about this than me.
So lets not put a wet blanket on any success that is long overdue
No you aint alone....sign of the times i'm afraid.Give me 3 points in the league anyday rather than this 'cup' win.In thinking nice we won tonight but so what.
I couldn't be bothered to go and I probably wouldn't be bothered to go to Wembley either.

I'm half with you. It's not the most prestigious cup going, and if Leicester were getting excited about it we would take the piss. But......
It's a fantastic opportunity for a bit of a giggle and a day out in London. I hope we do it.
its about the club winning something for me,not about a day out getting drunk.
why do we support a team if we dont care about actually winning?
