You also share the view that £200 million a year on keeping Royal bellies full is worthwhile. They are greedier than any trade unionist.
That dimwit Charles was sounding off the other day about how his generation has to do something "significant" to save the environment.......
I wonder how big his carbon footprint is?
Laughable hypocrisy.
He could've misheard it as 'nigger', as we know, that is universally accepted as a racist term, in which case he wouldn't be displaying 'ignorance' as such.
It has also come clear that he called Evra "blackie" several times, which is plain racist.
But without meaning to cause offence...Evra is a 'blackie' ?
Next in line to rule the country that muppet freeloader.
Thatcher is a villain! She is racist, supporter of apartheid in RSA.
How ironic that her funeral will be paid or by he state, height of hypocrisy.
She also kept that dirtbag Pinchet here as well.

Patriotic feeling, principles, or efforts.
An extreme form of this, esp. marked by a feeling of superiority over other countries.
That's what I mean by nationalism, and I think nationalism can be applied to UKIP (definitely) and the Conservatives for the latter definition...
We're all on Earth, that is our nationality, nations are merely tribes from 1000's of years of fighting.
Certainly applies to the People's republic of china, the communist jewel of North Korea and of course that bastion of wealth and free speech Cuba.
Fair play to CUBA, I say. When you consider its geographical location and how it has resisted all temptation to fall into line with American domination.
Quite remarkable really.

Unfortunately you have to pay the devil sometimes. Pinochet was useful once. That's politics as opposed to the playground.
I'm a bit confused on apartheid. Certainly we gave Rhodesia over in the 80's with lord carrington didn't we to that wonderful socialist Robert Mugabe.
JLR proof that it has never been the shop-floor worker or unions that ruined British Industry, but poor management.
Very good point in that the management at director level is far better.
The workers are as well though. If Tata had Red Robbo he'd be off to Calcutta for some re-programming,
Would you like to live there?

I see your point, it is truth to it.
However, even Marx took part in the 'system', why? Because you have to wait for the opportune moment for revolution. Look at the 'communist' revolutions the have happened so far, they have all failed, why? Because, if you look at orthodox Marxism, it says the country needs to have to have a developed proletariat and the country where it'd happen, capitalism would need to be matured. Look at China and Russia, they were peasant revolutions, and Engels said the parties may be pushed into a repressive government to maintain its rule. That has happened.
Also, how can you judge 'advanced' capitalism? Germany had been considered advanced pre WW1, look back now, capitalism has become more advanced, technology has also advanced, and the nature of the beast will follow suit to. I personally think capitalism will fall after all the 'sweatshop' countries reform so the capitalists can no longer exploit workers', hopeful thinking, but that's what I think.
Until then, you take part in the system because there is no alternative.
Why not?
Much better weather, better literacy and death rates than both the UK and USA, and some nice classic cars!
An awful lot like to spout about the joys of capitalism and un-fettered market forces then complain about immigrants coming in as cheap labour, or jobs going abroad to places such as China or India because labour costs are cheaper, and capitalists only care about how much profit they can squeeze out of people.
Always considered it strange that jobs are "outsourced" abroad so as not to pay a decent wage to people over here, but Chief Executive jobs never are.
Sure they can be hired cheaper too, and judging by the success of Land Rover, better too.

The default position of most leftists when asked to explain why all communist revolutions seem to end in failure (usually following a popular uprising), is to simply say that they were not true to orthodox marxism - a cop out. Of course they weren't, there is not a single example anywhere of ANY political ideology (which are all essentially utopian) that has been implemented in its purest form. It is an absurd notion.
We don't have true capitalism - if we did we wouldn't have the welfare state, and clearly if we have learnt anything about humanity, it is its unquenchable thirst for freedom. Any system that seeks to suppress freedom (often violently) in pursuit of a misguided collectivist dream will ultimately fail. We have seen this time and time again, and now Cuba seems keen to embrace political change.
It beggars belief that there are still people willing to argue in favour of this nonsense.

Because I have an opinion, I'm a know it all? Didn't you call Torch a 'know it all' too? Say a lot about yourself. You don't like it when people have a different opinion to you, and you turn it into you name-calling - really grown up thing to do.
Also, considering I'm doing it in school now (The Russian Revolution), I'd say I am in a good place to comment on it.
I did (on this thread - page 8) but you probably missed it.

Given you're views on Stalin I'd say you've got a poor teacher.
