It was obvious Lampard would be given a somewhat 'free spin' when it came to team selection, he must be allowed total and utter abandonment now to check out what he's got in the rest of the squad.
By that I mean without recrimination from owner or supporters.

I thought their keeper did enough to put him off to be honest, not blaming him for not taking it

However his continuous bottling out of challenges is unacceptable

He is exactly how a couple of dribbling West Brom fans described him to me as. How on earth they knew what our scouting and management teams missed is just shocking.

Evo might have a point about his chance perhaps not being as easy as some think, but I had absolutely zero faith he would score it anyway.
he’s exactly as I described in back in August and got told he was a great signing for 2.5m.

Absolutely woeful signing

I think there was an element of this with the selection of Allen and Kitching for the first time - both of whom played well.

I get that but the keeper was basically in his face anyway

The keeper was stood upright and not in position to spread himself. If BTA hit the ball hard and low there's every chance it would have gone in.

His other option was to take it round the keeper and possibly buy a penalty from the keeper or the retreating defenders, although I'm not sure BTA has that in his set.

He’s what you get in a striker for £2m. The proximity of his miss to us conceding has made it look worse. In reality he’s the least of our worries. The mentality of this squad is as brittle as you’ll see.

Collins, Asante, Dasilva, Latibeaudiere, Kitching, Thomas, Eccles, Torp, Binks are all fucking shit, concede 2 a game, offer nothing in midfield, can't score open goals, can't control a pass. No first touch.

I stand by my earlier post about BTA. He's going backward. I just can't see what he adds to the team. Like everyone I want him to come good but it looks a long way off atm.

If Robins had selected today’s starting XI, I would have assumed he was trying to send a message to the owner that we needed reinforcements in the transfer window.

As it turned out, Allen drove the midfield quite well and Kitchin recovered after a dreadful first 10-15 minutes.

Norwich aren’t good. They’ve taken six points off us this season. Robins never beat them in his stint as manager and Lampard seems to have inherited the same luck.

We can’t keep slagging players off when maybe they’re not the problem, assante was WBA top goal scorer last season , simms got 19 and was scoring when he was at Sunderland, they’ve come here and suddenly turn into shit players ?

Assante was top scorer with 11 goals, this is in the same territory as Clinton Morrison, adebola, Tudguy, etc. he also underperformed his xG last season (12.7), and the previous season (7 goals against xG of 9.9) he isn't a good striker.
