Assante was top scorer with 11 goals, this is in the same territory as Clinton Morrison, adebola, Tudguy, etc. he also underperformed his xG last season (12.7), and the previous season (7 goals against xG of 9.9) he isn't a good striker.

whoever invented this xg needs shooting, between him and simms they scored 30 goals in a tough league in not very good sides. I can think of a lot worse, they’re both doing the best they can in a shit team, shouldn’t be digging out any of our players, they’re all doing their best, just some aren’t up to it, should still stick with them

I think that would have made it feel alot less worse but that's true , it wasn't an easy chance
The keeper was very close and likely to save it, but you have to make him make the save. If he keeper makes the save, fair enough, but he might just miss the ball, or hit it back against you and it goes in on the rebound. Hitting it off target is only going to result in them getting a goal kick.

It was a poor shot

I think there was an element of this with the selection of Allen and Kitching for the first time - both of whom played well.
Something different is needed for sure. I’m just shocked why it’s taken 26 games to start Kitching. Whilst things weren’t perfect last season, there were times we looked comfortable in defence and this season it’s gone to pot. The Lati and Binks experiment just haven’t really worked out.

As for Allen, he did alright but it’s clear to me we need a good 2-3 midfield players to compete at the top end of this league. 2 to replace Sheaf and Allen and another for cover.

He’s good enough to be a sub striker which was his intended purpose. As was Bassette.

Just start Simms for 10 games consecutively and see what he can do. It’s a travesty he hasn’t started consecutive games since September and he scored 19 goals last season!

Tbh he actually had a better game than Bassette yesterday but people will rightly point to that chance as the moment in which we should have sealed the game

Just sums the season up, gifted a chance can't take it and we fold like a deck of cards

Unfortunately what happens when you have low on confidence misfiring strikers
