I thought it was quiet today and only picked up in the last 20 minutes.

Seriously comparing today with what we have had the last few seasons?

Doesn't have anything to do with the placement of the away fans though

Not comparing. Just making a point on how it’s argued on this forum and social media that the sole reason for the atmosphere drop is down to the movement of permanent location of away fans.

I’ve said before it’s not down to that, but multiple things.

Watford fans were terrible yesterday, sang the same song on the train and in the ground……and at the station yesterday they were throwing coins and a pair of air pods that hit me just missing my grandson and other small children, scumbags

The away fans were were they are now in some of the seasons people hold up as examples of great atmospheres

The issue is the people who moved to the South Stand don't sing songs.

Away supporters were noisy pretty much all game….. but just the same fecking song!!!! It was almost as irritating as that daft song Norwich sing repeatedly… on the ball city !!!!
It’s surprising how areas differ. We sit 1/2 way down block 15 and it’s been ok of late. It will be like a couple of years ago if we end up near the play-offs…Unless it is all old hat.

Edit: Apart from the blokes behind who talk about anything but football. The only times they do is when they say ‘……..’ is complete shit, depending on who is shit on the day. But TBH we moved in front of him. I wonder why our places were vacant?

I agree. If anything, most games our fans are closer given that they opened up 10,11 and 12. So it’s all down to the football.

Pompey away is an example of what happens on a good day but also how subdued it can be when losing.

Equally so Plymouth at home.

Tension creates atmosphere. The second half against Plymouth was like a morgue, because the game was already won and there was no tension.

Last season I sat next to someone like that. He has moved, so far more enjoyable this season.

Leeds under the lights could see us being back to our best.

Talking of lights, the pitch at the CBS is looking a bit bare, they have 10 days until the Leeds game, they need them heat lamps on 24/7 to get the grass to grow. 🔥

no, it's to do with who sits in the seats closest to the away fans

Thought the floodlights were pretty poor yesterday, seemed to be pretty dull at pitch level.

The atmosphere is definitely improving but not near the same as a couple of seasons ago yet. It’s as if the new fans we have gained just like to sit back and watch the match and not shout and sing. If we can keep up our improvement on the pitch though hopefully the noise levels will get louder 🤞

It had declined last season and its easy to see why

21-22 First season back. For the first time in over 20 years it felt like we were making real progress

22-23 Play off season, greatest season in decades

After those two years the atmosphere was never going to be matched
