He really doesn't like him. It's like when he blamed him randomly for a goal against Walsall when Burge dropped a clanger.
He has just spent £750k on Godden who has some pretty bad misses to his name so far also.
Robins is essentially calling Bakayoko a lazy c*nt with a bad attitude.
He is utter dog dump and I’ve been saying that since day one.Haven't disliked a player so much due to his complete lack of footballing ability since we had Neil Wood
He’s a pussy with no aggression gets bullied weekly the lads a fraud sooner he’s gone the betterHe needs to realise he's a target man that has to play with aggression and bully defenders. He stills thinks he can be the new Thierry Henry.
It’s not harsh mate it’s the stone cold truthNot sure but probably a bit harsh if accurate. Bakayoko has created chances for us closing down defenders/keepers in games, so he can and does put effort it. I think it's more lack of awareness as to what is the intelligent thing to do - where to run, how to create space etc. - so he just ends up standing there looking lost Chasing down a keeper doesn't require thought.
Walsall fans said he wasn't what you'd expect of someone who's 6'4'' (sorry, 193cm - we're ruled by the EU you know) and his build. You expect a big bruising centre forward getting stuck in. That seems to be what MR expects from him and is frustrated he's not getting. But I can't see what other type of forward he is either to be honest - he not blessed with skill with the ball, he's not a poacher, he's not a quick player playing off the shoulder of the last man.....
IIRC the Walsall fans also said there was nothing wrong with his attitude - he was always willing to do the community aspects etc but maybe that's part of why he isn't this big bullying centre forward? He's just a nice guy and it doesn't suit his personality.

Yeah definitely something in him & it’s not even close to a professional footballerThink some of the comments are a bit harsh. There’s something in him definitely (great goal the other week and when he’s fired up - Walsall at home last year - he’s a handful) but consistency and using his attributes will determine if he can make a good career for himself.
Prefer to see it with my own eyes and not based on what others say.I’d say he was playing for his professional career as I’m pretty sure no one will sign him after his contract runs out at the end of this season.
But we all knew he wasn’t good enough based on what Walsall told us...
Robins also says “If he can do that, get hold of the ball and bring out his physicality in the right way then he’s going to be a big threat. He’ll be a big, big threat ... He’s got an unbelievable chance of a brilliant career so let’s see how he comes back from it." which doesn't sound like he's written him off.certainly not saying Baka is it, but have they actually played together for more than a few mins so far in a game ?

Wilson, madders one should move in January (I hope).I think the article might make it sound harsher than Robins intended if you just look at his quotes. The article makes it seem he's being bomb squadded and on his way out but Robins quotes seem more a kick up the backside to get his act together.
Does sound like he's considering a change of formation to suit Godden and potentially dipping back into the transfer market. Of course a decent goalscorer won't come cheap so he must think he'll have money to spend.

I would give max/godden a try. Compared to Baka, Max has a much better footballing brain and can link play. My only concern with him is pace but there are many forward link men such as crouch, Nial Quinn etc who forged great partnerships and were no more mobile than the average pensioner.

They oddly score goals
no club aspiring for promotion would have either of these jokers in the squad
even Bakayoko is better in terms of forward ability than a fit Biamou let alone a hopelessly unfit one
Not for me. The point of playing a 442 with a big man little man combo is to get balls into the box quickly and particularly from wide. This goes against the whole ethos we've been deploying and the personnel we have, particularly in your example lacking the much needed width.I have said before that my issue with Bakayoko, as much as I want him to succeed, is there is no redeeming factor that I have seen on any sort of regularity. He doesn't have blistering pace, he doesn't win headers ans as Robins alludes to, no where near enough physicality and aggression.
I wonder if you could play a 442 diamond (considering the lack of wingers we have) ans play Ohare at the top behind Max and Godden, Kelly sitting with Walsh and Shipley either side .
I would be happy if they could hold the ball up better to allow the midfield to get up and press! At MK on saturday Hiwula and Baka could'nt trap a medicine ball between them! In Fact one pass to Hiwula bounced back of him futher than the pass actually started. Not sure but probably a bit harsh if accurate. That said, I do think we're struggling with 433 and I can see a change but rather than 442, perhaps to 4231. Still Godden up top, but supported by Hiwula, Shipley & O'Hare, with Walsh & Kelly sitting deeper. Packs the midfield and still affords the space to play out from the back. Possibly a little negative, but against better opposition and away from home I can see the merits.
Would rather of kept JCH than baka
:banghead:Some at the time didn’t
I would go 4231 aswell, get Ohare close to godden but I am merely trying to find a way that you could have someone with Godden upfront as Robins had potentially hinted at in his interview, whether it would work or not, I dont know but we have zero wide players fit, Hiwula and Kastaneer both are inside forwards, Jobello is injured and is the only wide player who is a 'winger ' as such.
If you got Dabo and Mason further up they could provide the width and you have Kelly drop in when they do commit.
I agree with you that 4231 would work and Ohare in no10 role
