Not in a million years,it’s not even closeWould anybody have Thomas over O'Hare in the 10 for us? I already know the answer but we have someone who is as tenacious as Thomas but with an end product.

Exactly. Not in a million years,it’s not even close

Thomas was great for us but he also cost us games with his poor judgement and finishing. Glad he’s found a lower league championship team like Barnsley to play at. But he would never get into our team now.
We are a lower Championship team
We’ll see come Saturday, but after 20 minutes, when you’re thinking these can’t keep this up all game, they’ll blow up and get knackered towards end, don’t count on it.
Interesting game for sure we’re getting a lot sharper and fitter after the long lay off,
how is Chaplin and Thomas doing for you guys ?
Well theyve lost both their games so far so I think we can win but would be happy with a draw awayI saw Barnsley twice the season they got promoted. Although we took 4 points off of them, they were obviously a very good (League 1) team. They must have improved on that to have survived last season. I read on here that they won only one of their opening 9 games. That would indicate, that to stay up, their form in the remaining 37 games must have been approaching play off standard. Coming to the final run in last season, I know they were still adrift. Their form in the last few games must have been excellent. (I know they were lucky because of Wigan's points deduction). However, surviving in the way that they did suggests that they are far from being 'shite'.
It’s worked well for you so far this season hasn’t it....
Brilliant at what they’re main job is, closing down and penning teams in, but they’re not clinical enough in front of goal.
What's your squad size like? Will you be able to rotate against Chelsea?Yeah same as last season, if we could take our chances we’d finish top 6 but we can’t, you’ll see on Saturday.
As long as we don’t burn ourselves out at Chelsea on Wednesday.
Isn’t a strikers main job to score goals?
Not in our team, it’s set up to defend from the front. Their main job is pressing.
You can press as much as you want and have 100 shots on target but unless you put the ball in the net it means jack shit.Leeds, Forest, and Brentford fans thought that going into the last 3 games of last season.
Leeds (A) 6 shots 2 on target.
Forest (H) 8 shots 1 on target.
Brentford (A) 12 shots 3 on target
First two league games this season.
Luton (H) 3 shots 1 on target.
Reading (A) 6 shots 5 on target. But we played half hour with 10 men and 25 minutes with 9 men.
Last season we was the second best pressing side in the league behind Leeds, and finished 5 in the XG table.
Our problem is we’ve sacrificed goal scorers for grafters, so we can press from the front, as a result we can’t take any of the abundance of chances we create.
If you try to play out from the back you’ll struggle to get out of your own half.

Let's not get carried away now.Same with Godden and Chaplin. I'd even take 3rd choice Baka over Chaplin.
Quite unlike when a team finishes 6th in Lge 2, of course!! ;-)That’s what happens when a side who finished 8th in Lge 1 gets promoted...
Had the same effect here mate Chaplin seemed to do ok last year for useBrilliant at what they’re main job is, closing down and penning teams in, but they’re not clinical enough in front of goal.
Chaplin would make the bench over Baka and max & possibly Walker let’s be real here but Godden for me is the better out of him and ChaplinLet's not get carried away now.

I think you under estimating Walker. Once he is upto speed I believe we have someone who will be very clinical and take his chances wellChaplin would make the bench over Baka and max & possibly Walker let’s be real here but Godden for me is the better out of him and Chaplin
Add to that we had 16 shots away at Bristol City who only let Stoke have 8 shots at home today. We create chances and we will do against Barnsley. They will have to make sure their press is spot on because if they push us high and let us play through the lines we'll be alright.Beat them and we'll be 6 points ahead of them already. They would have gone down last season if it wasn't for the dodgy stuff at Wigan. Took 4 points off them in League one and two of their main players are ones we had then improved upon. If we're serious about staying up we need to be winning these games to compensate for when we have the inevitable bad patches of form.
They've played the teams that finished 14th and 19th last year and got 0 points, we've played 13th and 12th and got 3.
QPR allowed 6 shots against v Forest, the same Barnsley did against Reading, we had 12 against them. I'm confident we create more chances against their 343 with our shape than the teams they've played so far have.

I don't think everyone believes we will play you off the park, but a victory against QPR has boosted confidence of some fans.I totally agree, it’s the reason I said we’ll probably lose one nil. And the reason we struggled to stay up last season, My point is you all think you’ll play us of the park and create an abundance of chances, I’m suggesting that you won’t and pointing out why.

We think we play a nice style of football which may catch out teams that underestimate us - if Barnsley are a hard working, pressing side then it should be a good game.
Personally, I've no idea what the result will be - obviously hope for a win, a draw away isn't too bad and a loss isn't awful (though the forum may have a meltdown!).
At present, we are just keen to see our players perform and compete against championship opposition. If we survive the season, then the main objective has been met. Any more will be a bonus.
