So you will be calling for his sacking if we don't make play offs?

Looks to me like Robins is becoming a victim of his own sucess

If I was him I'd change his name perhaps first name beginning with A......

No, it was dowie. But again, that isn't standard! Everybody thought that was a great achievement by palace! Which it would be with us too!

We're they one of the favourites in pre-season though? (Genuine question)

Coppell was manager before I was born, I'm sure he got them promoted from bottom.

Not making the play-offs and us finishing on the top 10 will in no way constitute failure. Can't see how it can be.

Robins has worked miracles. He has a win ratio of 55%. We haven't see that most of us in our lifetimes.

Unless we now completely tail off this season will not be seen as a failure by MR.

I think if we're being pedantic, my view is from where we were when Robins first took over, it would be a "great" achievement. From where we are now, it would be a "good achievement"

Dowie took over I believe in the second half of a season and secured promotion. Reading had a poor start last season but most considered they were in a false position and conceded few goals.

When robins took over he inherited a dispirited losing team who were clearly lacking fitness and direction. This in itself took more games to settle in. It was after 14 games when the season really began.

If we finish top 10 that us an achievement.

Coppell was their manager in the early to mid 90's. Dowie was their manager when they got promoted about 2004? They weren't bottom either. And to be honest, I can't remember if they were one of the favourites. We may have been one of the favourites before the season started, but after 8 games I can guarantee that we were no where near the favourites.

From where we are now and our squad we have yes.

So I assume you therefore if we finish say 10th will consider robins has failed and effectively agree with psgm1.

No team having only had 3 points in the first 8 games have I believe ever been in the play offs. We are on an even game basis still adrift.

Strange how the barometer of failure can change manager by manager.

You are forgetting that a manager actually has very little influence on a team's performance.

This is what I got, but other teams still need to play their other games so we'd finish 8th according to my predictions

The whole predicter thing should only be taken with a pinch of salt. It is difficult to predict a 5-fold accumulater, never mind a third of a season!

This is all so silly. You do your calculations based on what you think will happen? You assume what form dips others might have? far too made permeables to make any of this realistic in the slightest.

When the players are saying publically they are aiming for automatic promotion then you know what is expected by Robins. That alone tells me what I want to know. It's about our own form and ability not others.
Auto is a stretch for sure but the playoffs look a certainty from what I see.
