I think James and Kelly have been great together during the last two games. Problem will be keeping them both fit.Yeah I edited
If James was coming in to do the Kelly role and we were releasing Kelly, maybe. But we seem to still need Kelly in doing Kelly things while James is in the team, which makes me question why we need James.
I'd still sooner bring in Sheaf and let Shipley and Allen go.
If it's in the city centre, it's still being built, along with everything else.Sounds like Robins is going to cross that bridge at the end of the season.
I seem to remember that there may have been a question mark over his medical when he came
So he joined on loan initially with an obligation to buy if the area of concern didn't recur
I just hope it looks better when its finished than it did before. If it's in the city centre, it's still being built, along with everything else.
Anyone else been down? The whole town centre is like a building site.

Don't know the detailsHe had a lot of injury problems in his youth at West Ham & Arsenal but thought his last couple of loans showed he was over them. Could be wrong but think they've usually all been different injuries too?
You certainly lose something when you play 5 defenders and 2 or 3 defensive midfielders,I think playing two deep lying players is a sticking plaster that hampers our progress. We've got two men doing the job of one and if neither are up to doing it on their own I'd get rid and find someone who is. We need the attacking impetus a Walsh or a Hamer gives you in that position, or it's all down to O'Hare to link midfield and attack.
If we had a decent defence the back line shouldn't need quite so much protection either.
How did you enjoy our L1 promotion season - with 1 upfront? He was shitting himself 541 at home to Wycombe and defending draws when a positive change would of had us more points ? I also came out and openly give him credit for this past couple of weeks how he’s changed it to go more positive,it’s also clear to see I’ve never been a fan of 1 up front
I think there would be a number of league 1 clubs willing to take shipley and Allen.100% but got to find willing takers.
The system worked at the level in the championship it’s flawed the full backs are nullified easilyHow did you enjoy our L1 promotion season - with 1 upfront?
I would take Eccles over sheafI remember Sheafs debut in the cup and thinking that Eccles looked like the hot prospect from Arsenal

Can't see him signing him can you ?Asked for an update on Sheaf’s longer term future beyond this season, Robins said: “We’ll cross that bridge at the end of the season.”
Can't see him signing him can you ?
Personally and I know some disagree , it would be a good decision for us to get out of this deal
I'm at a point where I don't know what to feel about sheaf , when we were doing poorly I briefly pined for his return but besides that I can't say I've truly missed him
I would take Eccles over sheaf
To be fair, reading this thread that seems a pretty popular opinionunpopular opinion but I could't care less he has gone back
I’ve seen more of Eccles than sheaf and I would take Eccles over him all day that’s before we get into a reported £750k for sheafBased on 1 League Cup performance against lower league opposition.
Doncaster said he got caught in possession a lot there he’s far too slow in possession he needs a rocket up the arse & to smile moreI actually think he needs another season in league 1
He's still young
I also want city to try and get Eccles another league 1 loan

in potential he is an update, but his unerring ability to either pass to the opposition or just fall over the ball are 1st class
Mate listen just get over it your in a small monitory, robins is getting us out of the deal just throw your hands up and admit you got it wrongYou were slating Eccles as not up to it even at U23 level literally the day before that Gillingham game
How much can you improve a 23 year old though ..I think that's the key question .
Probably 4 / 5 years off his peak
When you look at Jordan Shipley we all question how much further he can go because we can see it ... do you see sheaf becoming something much more as a player
The club will do what it thinks is best
I said the same about Stevenson.Call me when Shippers defensive stats and passing range is close to Sheafs.
I’ve got to be honest, in a pure football sense I’d take Kelly or James, they have a bit more nous for that role. If we spend the £600k or whatever elsewhere I won’t be crying, but I like him as a player and I think he’ll end up around Championship level. Though I thought that about Ben Stevenson.
