Well if the plan is to get to the PL the 15% would be worth a lot more than it is now
Then they could cash out
All supposition but it makes business sense
In the meantime as King owns 85% he cam make virtually any decisions he likes
I understand why they have done it from a SISU perspective but I don't imagine Ashley as someone who would want less than 100% could be wrong of course!

Hope King is in Cahoots with Ashley, it means Sisu apart from the 15% are out of the way and will never relinquish control. Like others have said Ashley in hurry to own the club but knows its being run correctly under King

You’ve often been right so 100% kudos to you but is it a big charade for DK to then go bidding against MA in court.?

Contingency plan in case Judge went against MA? goes to DK as his ringer rather than letting another party to the party? Is that the thinking?

Many people here (myself included) have struggled to see what’s been going on here - Machiavellian sounds spot on.
That's pretty much what I was thinking, sort of makes sense.
Also I think MR had an idea what was happening prior to the announcement, hence his comment about the arena and the club needing to be re-united. Would also explain the upturn in form if some of the squad had some inkling something positive was afoot.

If everyone was in the loop why not sell to Ashley direct? If he is an Ashley stooge you'd expect he'd have been sent in to buy 100% of the club without the billionaire status to keep the cost low then Ashley buy his companies off him...
No idea, the whole thing is a bit surreal. Perhaps MA working with SISU wouldn’t have been well received by a certain party.

There is that but then I don't get why he wouldn't say leave the stadium to me and I will buy the club for X after. The theory that having two potential buyers in the room vs the others isn't a bad one. Get one to offer a silly amount (25m) based on due diligence which they knew would drop it a lot with dilapidations either way they end up paying roughly the same amount.

If I am correct, MA's bid (£17M) was already known when DK put in his offer of £25M. Why so much higher, other than to provide a tangibly better return if MA's bid was rejected?
Also the lateness of the bid from DK and the lack of any proper preparation would seem strange in any other scenario.

He may of asked King to run it for him, Ashley might not of bought it yet for tax purposes as he buying 2 separate companies. Holding off may save tax

So many different variables. How would it save tax? Are you thinking x number of years of losses can be put towards later years profits?

@oldskyblue58 might have an idea why Ashley might to do things separately
It's possible Ashley's sale of NUFC had non compete clauses for a period after the sale as is often the case
In any case we are all just guessing

I heard about this but the way Ashley was getting around it was to look at a Championship club. Think the non-compete was in regards to buying another Prem club.

If BD is right and we may never find out… it’s a tiny window into the mad murky world of big business shenanigans. Us normal folk and I use that description very loosely given some of the fruitcakes on SBT, simply have no idea.

I don’t know man, I grew up watching Scooby do. Seems very similar

Any non-compete clause would have number of years written into the contract. As MA only sold NCFC almost a year ago, then he would have been placed in a difficult position if MR gets us promoted this year.
This was something that wouldn't have been an issue with Derby, as they were heading to L1 when MA bid for them.

This would be the only explanation. Ashley then goes into talks with King which council wouldn't mind

There you are BD!
Welcome back, seems a coincidence you’ve been quiet for about the same length of time as it’s taken for all this to go through, hmmmmm.
Are you another alter ego of MA?

So presuming King is an Ashley plant, put in position to secure majority ownership of the football club, are SISU in or out of the loop, is it an elaborate plan to oust them from the club in a devious way or are they playing an active role ‘and if so why.
I’m confused.

Still doesn’t explain why a late bid went in. Surely that was noise MA didn’t need?

Also Doug talked about ”trust” with Joy Being an important factor, so is she in on this also? If not, BD has given her ammo to stop the sale?

still lots of questions…
