I understand why they have done it from a SISU perspective but I don't imagine Ashley as someone who would want less than 100% could be wrong of course!Well if the plan is to get to the PL the 15% would be worth a lot more than it is now
Then they could cash out
All supposition but it makes business sense
In the meantime as King owns 85% he cam make virtually any decisions he likes
And that blocked toilet?
Welcome back BD, looking forward to some news from you whenever you canDifficult to make sense of it all
I just asked who King was and that's what I was told
in what sense? If this is the case then it was probably already agreed by all parties.Ahhhh so essentially take control of the holding group. Interesting. I bet Sisu retaining 15% will be a bit of a fly in the ointment!
If everyone was in the loop why not sell to Ashley direct? If he is an Ashley stooge you'd expect he'd have been sent in to buy 100% of the club without the billionaire status to keep the cost low then Ashley buy his companies off him...in what sense? If this is the case then it was probably already agreed by all parties.
That's pretty much what I was thinking, sort of makes sense. You’ve often been right so 100% kudos to you but is it a big charade for DK to then go bidding against MA in court.?
Contingency plan in case Judge went against MA? goes to DK as his ringer rather than letting another party to the party? Is that the thinking?
Many people here (myself included) have struggled to see what’s been going on here - Machiavellian sounds spot on.
No idea, the whole thing is a bit surreal. Perhaps MA working with SISU wouldn’t have been well received by a certain party. If everyone was in the loop why not sell to Ashley direct? Probably got it in 1 thereNo idea, the whole thing is a bit surreal. Perhaps MA working with SISU wouldn’t have been well received by a certain party.
There is that but then I don't get why he wouldn't say leave the stadium to me and I will buy the club for X after. The theory that having two potential buyers in the room vs the others isn't a bad one. Get one to offer a silly amount (25m) based on due diligence which they knew would drop it a lot with dilapidations either way they end up paying roughly the same amount. No idea, the whole thing is a bit surreal. He may of asked King to run it for him, Ashley might not of bought it yet for tax purposes as he buying 2 separate companies. So many different variables. How would it save tax? Are you thinking x number of years of losses can be put towards later years profits? He may of asked King to run it for him, Ashley might not of bought it yet for tax purposes as he buying 2 separate companies. Holding off may save tax
Maybe although your talking to the wrong person as I'm no accountantSo many different variables. How would it save tax? Are you thinking x number of years of losses can be put towards later years profits?
Ahhh OK I thought you had a tax avoidance scheme in mindMaybe although your talking to the wrong person as I'm no accountant

@oldskyblue58 might have an idea why Ashley might to do things separatelyHe may of asked King to run it for him, Ashley might not of bought it yet for tax purposes as he buying 2 separate companies. Holding off may save tax
Well I am self employed so I know a bitAhhh OK I thought you had a tax avoidance scheme in mind. I'm not aware of any avoidance scheme but I'm not an expert either! Someone much cleverer than me will know.
@oldskyblue58 might have an idea why Ashley might to do things separately
It's possible Ashley's sale of NUFC had non compete clauses for a period after the sale as is often the case
In any case we are all just guessing
If BD is right and we may never find out… it’s a tiny window into the mad murky world of big business shenanigans. Us normal folk and I use that description very loosely given some of the fruitcakes on SBT, simply have no idea.
That might be a problem from MayI heard about this but the way Ashley was getting around it was to look at a Championship club. Think the non-compete was in regards to buying another Prem club.
Any non-compete clause would have number of years written into the contract. As MA only sold NCFC almost a year ago, then he would have been placed in a difficult position if MR gets us promoted this year.I heard about this but the way Ashley was getting around it was to look at a Championship club. This would be the only explanation. Ashley then goes into talks with King which council wouldn't mindNo idea, the whole thing is a bit surreal. Perhaps MA working with SISU wouldn’t have been well received by a certain party.

adjectiveMachievellian, sorry what's this, great bit of info by the way BD
Can’t wait for the conspiracy theories of why we sold Gyokeres in January…That might be a problem from May
Baldrick-esque thenadjective
- cunning, scheming, and unscrupulous, especially in politics.
"a whole range of outrageous Machiavellian manoeuvres"
He doesn't own us though, we have a stooge in charge, premier league tastic. Not arfCan’t wait for the conspiracy theories of why we sold Gyokeres in January…
“Ashley had a non compete clause… we couldn’t get promoted”
