And this was the remark that made everyone realize that you are simply on the wind-up. Worse owners than SISU!!! How is that even possible?
Point out the times we have been successful ,as in winning games and you will see decent attendances. Why do some people have such a downer on the people of their City and county? And barring on season in a shiny new stadium, we haven't!!
And to be fair, even in the premier league we struggled to hit 20k (just seen stats that somebody has put up)!
Looking at those stats our 'regular 20k fams' is miles off. Go back 40 years to 1977 and we've only averaged above 20k 5 times!! That's not very regular if you ask me!

Correct but if we play shit we will get the well you never brought season tickets so it is your fault.I've just had a look on the above statistics site. Since 1967 we have had 5 single figure final positions (top 9). This includes the 16 years since we left the top division when we have finished 8th twice. City fans have had nothing to get excited about apart from the two cup victories. To finish so badly in what ever League we have been in shows how much our fan base has had to put up with. A team winning games in whatever league produces a feel good factor and gates go up as we saw briefly last season. It may take a while for trust to build up but fans will return to watch a team with a hope of winning.
And I'd of said the attendances were more 16-17kaverage.
Don't think we've topped over 20k average since we fell from the prem.

Your point is that with or without Sisu our attendances wouldn't go up by much. I disagree. We have had big attendances in the past on a consistent basis( not just one off games) and it will happen again. Sisu going in itself would be a boost. Sisu going and some success on the field would see attendances rise. Coventry fans are no different to those elsewhere. The difference here is that for 50 years we have had a team that that have lost far more games than we have won. Add in Sisu, no stadium, Northampton and two relegations, it is not surprising we have disenchanted fans. That can and will change when Sisu go and we get a bit of success.
Look, I'm not saying that after a promotion or two and something to actually cheer about were not capable of 20k+ week in week out! (45k at Wembley has just proven we have the fams there)! I think after 2 promotions were capable of 20k under sisu, let alone new owners!I've just had a look on the above statistics site. Since 1967 we have had 5 single figure final positions (top 9). So do you think it wouldn't be a price worth paying? (50% transfer fees for 3 years against new ownership led by a Coventry born and bred man, an upturn in optimism and attendances and the hated mob gone to boot?I haven't go a downer just pointing out facts!!
Facts are the OP says giving 50% of transfer fees for 3 years is potentially damaging!
Somebody else thinks we will be fine as increase in ticket sales will make up for the losses!
Yet if sisu left tomorrow we'd end up with maybe 1000 more season ticket sales (2000 tops) walk up would be good for rhetoric 1st game or 2 then we'd fall back down to our average! We never sold more than 10,000 ST as a championship club. Our average in League 1 was between 6-7, last season was 5. As a now league 2 team under sisu we'll be lucky to shift 4k! Even if they leave it'll only bring us back to our league 1 average and rise by 2k maximum! You call it a downer, I just call it realistic!!!

I'd happily try anything because I don't think anything atm could put us in a worse situation the were already in! I'm just going into something like this with my eyes wide open.So do you think it wouldn't be a price worth paying? Well......
You did see OSB's thread in which he debunked Fishers whinge about limited revenue streams I take it.I'd happily try anything because I don't think anything atm could put us in a worse situation the were already in! I'm just going into something like this with my eyes wide open.
Like the OP is making a point of people going into a deal with their sisu blinkers on and not looking at the bigger picture. We only make money from 2 main sources! Ticket sales and player sales! If we're offering 50% of our player sales and don't make the massive hike in ticket sales that some people think we will, where do we get money from then? Is Hoffman willing to bank roll us for those 3 years?? We just need to be realistic!

I'd love to be proven wrong but I really don't think the gates would go up considerably at first! You did see OSB's thread in which he debunked Fishers whinge about limited revenue streams I take it.
Would be a price well worth paying I think. The key thing for me would be the optimism generated by Sisu's departure. If social media opinions and the Cov fans I speak to are a typical cross section of our support then attendances will increase and you would hope this would fortify our hand in retaining any saleable talent we have.
Understand the caution aspect, but think Hoffman can be trusted.
I know 27000 isn't a reflection in what we could reasonably expect on a regular basis, but believe me it will increase.I'd love to be proven wrong but I really don't think the gates would go up considerably at first!
A couple of gesture yes, but then back to normal!
Said in an earlier post, just look at the ricoh return v Gillingham!! 27,306.
The very next game vs Yeovil we had 11,000.
Preston 10,000.
Crawley 7,700!
Need I go on??

Help meI'm starting to worry about you.
You also need to look at what was happening that season. We were losing, the football was terrible. It was only Mowbray coming in at the end of the season that saved us. Look at the figures Wolves were getting when they were in the third and forth division. I remember Blues scraping 4K for a third division game. Attendances go down when teams are doing badly.I'd love to be proven wrong but I really don't think the gates would go up considerably at first!

Surely it would be simpler to just roll the baby down the hill? Then you don't have to cycle and she gets to see the baby.Help me
I'm hungover and she wants me to cycle up a massive hill to her brothers to see a baby.
Cannot seriously believe after all the crap under SISU that so many posters are so eager for Hoffman to take over the club without due diligence.
It's like they haven't learned the lessons of the past!
I mean here's a consortium that are offering up percentages of future transfer fees as a deal sweetener.
How the fook will the club sustain itself if the owners are giving away 50% of one our only sources of revenue.
We need to scrutinise this deal very carefully and not in our haste to get rid of SISU, accept owners that could be considerably worse.

This I do strongly disagree with, though: I had a season ticket every year until Northampton, went a few games a season when we came back and this year zero for the first time since I was a kid. My ST buddy hasn't been back since Northampton whilst another goes sporadically now and I think is 90% to get a ST again if SISU go. I wouldn't get an ST as it's awkward with working weekends, but I would do a dozen games a season I reckon. You'd like to think that was the case but I'm dubious we would gain that many more 'regular' fans! For a few games I think people would feel like they have to attend after making such a big hoo ha for so many years. Like the fuss people made getting us back from shitfields, sold out first game then back to normal the very next game.
The problem is, all these people who say NOPM until they go, are people who never went in the first place. 85-90% of my 'nopm' friends, haven't been in years anyway so we haven't lost what we never had to begin with!

I just cant get it out of my headthe fans will have ZERO input on any deal. why can't people get that into their heads ffs.
Wouldn't having offered up percentages of future transfer fees act as a disincentive to selling off our best players? If so 50% of nothing is ----- nothing.Cannot seriously believe after all the crap under SISU that so many posters are so eager for Hoffman to take over the club without due diligence.

Agreed, but sisiu have also sussed that, I reckon.Wouldn't having offered up percentages of future transfer fees act as a disincentive to selling off our best players? If so 50% of nothing is ----- nothing.
Yeah, it's hardly the most cunning of plans...Agreed, but sisiu have also sussed that, I reckon.
We should be so lucky.I'd gamble on Hoffman, at least he is a City fan. Yes the terms have to be right and you have to be very careful with the litigious hedge fund and future promises and dealings but the ONLY way forward is without that twat Tim Fisher and his vile pay masters !
