I don’t blame him for the goal but he was shit today. dog shit. Looked shit last game too.
Not quite looking the Rolls Royce Robins called him atm. Badlan signing and the investment is such we cant afford to get it wrong. I hope the Roller is just rusty. I did not see him much at Swansea so it's hard to say how far he is playing away from his peak?

I think it's the former. Just hoping that whatever that injury was hasn't had a permanent effect. Part of what Dabo was always clever at was luring in a challenge, but somehow wriggling past the defender. Not sure he ever had a lot of pace, but for me it has been apparent he has been playing within himself/managing his game, pretty much since the injury.
I have thought since the halfway stage of last season he hasn't been totally match fit and pain free ,hence Kane has looked an upgrade .Bidwell addition is another step forward for the club.
Can see Josh ried getting nearer to being a squad player by the middle of next season

Did robins really call him a rolls Royce ?

Not sure how bidwell is getting the blame for the goal. The had almost nothing down the left side all game. He wasn't good going forward but anyone watching should be able to see that he's suffering from a lack of time on the training field.
There were numerous times he wasn't sure when to make the run or press and that's plainly down to not having enough time to work on things with team mates.
Confident he will come good, but games are coming thick and fast so it may take time.

Give the lad time to get settled. He's gone from not playing to suddenly being pushed into top of the table battles with new teammates and a lack of match fitness. He's done ok.
We played them off the park most of the game and Bidwell was part of that, finding his feet in the team. Can’t believe there’s any hint of blaming him.

Not why Bidwell got any blame for the goal, it was JCSs man, and Bidwell was keeping position in the build up as he had 2 attacked free around him.

you judge a player game by game and at the moment bidwell is not up to the required standard to play in the first team full stop lets be honest

No dynamism going forwards, questionable at the back. Used to slowly slowly bore you to death Swansea and not swashbuckling Cov I reckon.
I am hanging onto the fact Kane had a slow start but I would agree Mattsen when he came on looks far more of an attacking threat. I read somewhere Bidwell can play LCB could do you think he do a job there?

I hope the numbers were not silly I.e. top 3 best paid as that would destabilizing based on his current showing. Should know more about how effective he will be by the end of February.

Why LCB ? Salter-Clarke has been pick of the defence lately.
Bidwell will be okay, not sure what some fans expect instant Paolo Maldini I suppose for free.

It wasn’t down Bidwell’s side
We should have been 3 or 4-0 up by the time it happened
He’s had a few weeks to get match fit and used to how we play

Yesterday took the piss and so does this thread

He will be fine, time getting used to the formation and movement, been thrown in.
He isn’t as pacy as IM but probably a better crosser like Kane, he rugby tackled the guy and was lucky today that the ref blew up just before the ball came in but why was he marking the tallest player they had, he can only block or hold, one of the CB’s should marked him but they were playing zonal at the time due to the wind blowing the ball inwards to goal.
We’re shopping at primark folks for most of our players and then the odd one where we upgrade to a burtons, no flannels purchases right now until we’ve been in the championship longer or cashed in on a few players being sold.
Give him time and evaluate after 10-15 games, I think IM will be back in now and he will build watching and playing with the squad and rotate the tough February we have

I agree with you its early days and will reserve judgement for many more games. I am in no way saying JSC should be dropped he is having a good season and I hope we can sign him come the summer. I was simply asking if a poster through Bidwell could operate at LCB. Nothing more.

I suspect some people are asking some questions as the fanfare Bidwell arrived with has not yet been been matched with on pitch performances.

at the moment Bidwell scares me, looks off the pace which is understandable, but i would start with Maatsen against Blackpool but keep Bidwell in for the Fa Cup game.

My Swansea city friend rates bidwell very highly and couldn’t get around why Swansea let him leave so he must have something about him unless robins is looking at changing the system next season and bidwell is the natural left back for the future?

The one and a bit games I’ve seen he certainly isn’t a left wing back at all.

I'm not worried about Bidwell. He can look after himself, and having been short of recent game time/never having played for us/got to know his team-mates/just settling into the area - it is hardly surprising that he hasn't looked like Roberto Carlos in his first couple of games. I think he'll turn into a solid left sided player with an extra bit of steel.
