I have read somewhere that Liverpool want to keep him and therefore prefer a loan rather than selling him, so (if that is true) the RB Salzburg deal looks unlikely.

We are supposedly in for him on loan along with Sheffield United, Leeds and Norwich. I think we would be outbid on wages and loan fee.

That said, Liverpool’s main interest is likely to lie in developing a good prospect. We do have a good reputation for improving players, so I guess it’s not absolutely impossible that he could come to us.

I rather suspect that it’s unlikely though.
