McSheffrey has tweeted he isn't even allowed to see the club physio and has had to go somewhere in Solihull for treatment....bit harsh as surely they are still employed?

If true, then that's wrong.

It's also a bit shortsighted as they're less likely to find new clubs if they're not fit.

Isn't he employeed by ccfc limited in administration?

Probably explains why Bell took the payout and went to County as he couldn't afford a personal physio the amount of time he uses one :D

Or that the physio has been in Holland all week and didn't get back until Monday.

They used to have several part time physios.

Mike McBride left, don't know who they have now, but even he had a part time private practice at Pilgrims in Earlsdon.

mcsheffrey is content to sit out his contract rather than find another club so fuck him, hes trying to live off home town hero status but he lost that last few years

If true then that is disgraceful and as far as I'm concerned the whole 'bomb squad' situation is foolish in the extreme. Whilst we're under a transfer embargo and the squad is woefully short of numbers surely you use every player at your disposal and if you want rid at least you're putting them in the 'shop window'.

Yep. If you're a good player or manager and you leave the club for a better deal you're a 'judas'. If on the other hand you're a player that we don't want anymore, and you don't leave when you're told to, you're a waster.

When you've got a squad as thin as ours, with the embargo likely to go on into the start of the season, it seems daft to me to alienate (or injure) any of your squad. Poor management, imho.

He should come out and say it in the Telegraph then. No current player which he is should be treated like that.

It's a disgusting way to treat someone especially a player that is still contracted to the club, but if McSheffery was offered a Pay off to go and find himself a new club and chose to see out his contract then maybe he should of just taken the money and ran.

Maybe he wants to try and force his way back into the managers plans?

Disgusting way to treat any player let alone one who has given the majority of his career to the club.

although i am glad pressley has made a stand on those he doesnt want

mcsheffrey isnt good enough for the way we will play this year so glad we are not forcing him in just because of wages

I agree, but if he told he wasn't needed and was offered a pay off and didn't accept it, can you then explain what reason there would be for him to stick around?

Who exactly is in the Bomb Squad? Sheffers, Edge, Bell? Anyone else?

How do we sell/get rid of an injured player? Yet again SISU logic actually harms themselves as much as anyone else. Unbelievable tossers.

His reasoning on Twitter as to why he didn't take the offer and stick out the 2 years was to keep having the income to look after his daughter & pay his bills, which is a fair comment.... if he hadn't earn't £20k a week at Blues for 3 years and £10K a week at CCFC for god knows how many years before that.

That's fair enough but you would think Sheffers would have enough money to take a contract release fee and find a new club I am sure if he could prove his Fitness he would easily get a club at League 1 level.

Compare and contrast mcSheff attitude with that of say Carl Baker who regularly pays for private treatment to ensure he is back to fitness asap.....

Personal decision to do what you want when offered to end your contract for a settlement fee, I'm not sure it's a very good example of how football has become money orientated. It's the same in any profession generally. You work for someone, they pay your wages, they tell you they don't want you anymore - what's the first thing you do - ask what your options are and make a personal decision. Seems fair enough really.

Two reasons.

One, maybe the payoff wasn't for the full value of his contract, or even close to it.

Two, he's been here before and forced his way back into the squad. In fact given our record with managers it's not unreasonable to assume there will be someone else in charge long before McSheff finishes his contract!

Fundamentally, there's nothing stopping the club paying him up in full and telling him to get lost if they are really that desperate to get rid of him.

Is it me, or is this a recurring theme with our owners - if there's a contract that you don't like, rather than settle up or negotiate, try to weasel your way out of it.

If any of our players have to pay for private treatment to get fit more quickly, then we've really lost sight of what's important at the club.

Do you think that SISU would offer him anywhere near any 'contractual' release fee? With their negotiation skills in the 'do what we tell you at the price we say..' I can't imagine the club's offer will be anywhere near contractual obligations.

The way the bomb squad have been treated, they're right just to wait and see what happens. If the club's payroll is so generous that we can afford to have well paid players not involved in the squad then so be it.

Before long Fisher will be moaning that there isn't enough money for a competitive team because of the cost of the bomb squad.

I was wondering if it was anything to do with the team being on tour and the physio being there?

Rumour is that it's 20% offer of wages owed for duration of contract. If that's the case and he's on £6k a week then he's turned down a £125k payout and the opportunity to play weekly elsewhere to earn himself another £500k at SISU's expense.

I guess you might take your senior physio, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't someone on the club payroll that he wouldn't normally see in this situation. Even then, would you expect your players to pay for their treatment?

Looks a lot like spite, to me.
