Luckily it’s not up to you, Wilson is better than Collins ( not a very high bar ) it should have been dovin and Wilson as back up,we didn’t even need to sign Collins, we only did because somebody thought signing half the Barnsley defence would be a good idea, he’s costing us a play off spot and you seem ok with it ? He needs dropping
Of course it’s not up to me but both Robins and Lampard know a hell of a lot more about the squad and football in general than any of us on here.

Some saying “Robins and Frank rate Collins higher”

To be fair, Wilson got the nod until injury, that’s point 1. Point 2; Oggy (who I think knows more about goalkeeping than Frank, Robins and the entire SBT forum combined) seems to (listening to commentary) rate Wilson higher.

Not quite sure they know what defines a good keeper though, didn’t robins drop dovin for Collins and lampard keeps picking Collins ?
I think they have enough experience from playing the game professionally. As I said, if Wilson was that good he’d have never been replaced by Collins last season.

I've never been a fan of Collins.
But he's nowhere near the level now that he was when he replaced Wilson.

Im genuinely bemused by people defending him
He's costing us goals on analyst weekly basis.

If Wilson died in his sleep, I'd still put his lifeless body on the goal line and back it to be more effective than Collins!

Let's face it, Oggy would rate Wilson over Buffon. He clearly rates Wilson over Dovin too.

Im not defending him, neither of them are good enough. Wilson was equally as bad at the start of last season and rightfully lost his place.

Must be tough for the manager. Change of keeper from one who can play out from the back to one who can't likely means a fairly significant change in patterns of play, build up, positioning and so on. So do you keep it as is and hope for the best or risk changing things up? Tough call.

Look at the tweet linked above, we've had one calamity keeper after another for years but none of them can match that hilight reel, it's fucking tragic

Dovin has also made some clangers, seem to remember people getting excited about some of his because they wanted to slate him.

If somebody makes a highlight reel with an agenda then you can make it look however you want.

This isn't defending him, I have also said I'd prefer Wilson in if he's fully fit.

You don't need an agenda to see how poor Collins is.
I genuinely feel sorry for him and think he needs dropping for his own good as much as anything else.
Dovin does drop clangers, if he didn't he'd be playing for Man City not Coventry City, but this season Collins has been another level.

He must be like Lev Yashin in training

In the hall of unreliable goalkeeping fame, where does he sit? We've had some whoppers over the years. Burge, Debec, Dimi, the legend that is Eric McManus (one for the kidz), Nuzzo, Ireland. There's quite a competition for the title.

It speaks volumes when other teams have threads on him. (Sunderland apparently)
and apparently prevalent in Luton's match thread comments.

The worst Wilson/Tyler/Bella can be is as bad as Collins.

Totally worth a gamble.

Mindset is vital for a keeper and his is in the bin. Wilson has more bouncebackability, comparable actual ability

Exactly. He’s thick as mince and doesn’t seem to let fuck ups bother him. Whereas Collins - as seen many times on that compilation - is often distraught. That one from last season where he’s nearly hitting himself on the head after a mistake - not nice to see.

Perhaps a protest is called for at Luton: our fans smuggle in as many poppadums as possible and wave them up in the air when Collins flaps and misses the ball then launch them at him like frisbees when he punches the ground in frustration when the ball is in our net yet again.

Proper tribute to poppadum wrists in goal.

PS obvs I am joking, but sadly I can't see Lampard dropping him...
