He’s a rotation option, not backup. The chance to work with Boateng might well also be the extra factor, I doubt we’d have offered much different to them in wages.

As I said, we played with 3 strikers last season, sharing game time.

Think the telling point will be that Hull are effectively a basket case. They relied too heavily on loans last season (as we did Playoff year) and that's burned them this season. Owner may be rich but has no idea about football. Nor do his underlings. BTA was apparently at their game last night yet still chose us.

We in comparison are making positive steps forward, on and off the pitch. That has to be a bonus to someone wanting to give their time to us.

Boateng will have helped too.

Gimoc said we had missed out on our striker signing. To be fair that would line up with him going to hull originally
Pretty sure he said no more signings other than loans.

To be fair to them, we'd be the same. Every fan likes to think their club is the best and most attractive for a player. I guess there are a few factors here: Boateng obviously, but also location. It's a long way to Hull.

Fair comments.

But the one thing that is often missed is Hull risked all on promotion last season, with far too many high value players. They failed and now have to start again from scratch with a new manager. We are a stable outfit, who are progressing steadily on and off the pitch. That has to be a plus point with an incoming player.

Yes he said that becUse he said we missed out on our striker target. This could be true as at the time BTA looked to be going to hull
If you want to be classed as ITK you have to actually get something right occasionally.

Spot on . Can imagine potential targets wanting to be a part of the club Obvious intent being shown by Doug and we are raising the bar significantly; n the quality of players we are signing. Still find it pretty astonishing that some on here were berating the lack of transfer activity whilst clearly having no knowledge of what was going on in the background. Keep the transfer dealings under wraps.

Just been told its down to the Vik installment as to why we've managed it

We weren't sure whether we were getting the installment of having to wait until next season

Turns out we got the instalment and within the next couple of weeks we will be getting that lovely 10% sell on 😜

Which would suggest that we were first choice all along.

Seems like a lot for them to lose for not all that much financial gain in reality. But not our problem.

They need to get rid to bring in. Needing to bring wages down to be in line with FFP (or whatever it is). Second year with no parachute payments and they are having to deal accordingly.

Or could just be as simple as convenient for somebody who I guess lives within 30 miles of Coventry to come here
