Other teams fans on social media can't keep us out of their mouths even more than usual, we've got them all rattled haven't we. This is the season.

Vik to move in the next 2 weeks and we finish the transfer window with a marquee CM signing

Praying I Hope GIF by The Paley Center for Media
Sorry that's reminds too much of what's his name again!

I said it was a decent signing. Just not sure he has the upside some of our others do, and it won’t be an insignificant fee. But that’s fine if it gets us promoted.
He wouldn’t because he’s not being brought in be our number one striker. Scoring 11 goals last season shows he’s good enough to contribute. Compared to Obikwu who scored 3 in 16 at L2 level (and needs a loan to continue his development).

Not sure on the media making out as though it was hijacked. As I said from the beginning, it's been a long time coming. A lot of time and effort has gone into securing him. Stand by what I said, think it's a good signing, shows intent and pushes us toward our goals of a more rotational squad. Good business.
He was due to go to Hull so we kind of have hijacked it

WBA may have accepted a bid from Hull, but the player himself has to want to go and agree personal terms. We've been talking to him for a long time now, I don't believe Hull was ever in his mind. Goes to show that creating good relationships with potential signings can give you the edge when it comes to the business being done. Recruitment team doing a great job imo.

Would be funny as fuck if Obikwu went to Hull as a loan player

Just feels expensive @£2-3m.

I thought that was cheap?

Think what our fans would have wanted for O'Hare if he wasn't out of contract? O'Hare is a year older, played slightly less games, yet BTA has scored double the amount of goals to O'Hare.

Well, there are people thinking Sakamoto is starting ahead of EMC (£4.25m), Simms (£8m) or Wright (£9m)…

Joking aside, £2-3m for a sub striker who’s 25 with a good record at Championship level is a bargain. You’d easily spend that on a top end L1 player. We’ve also weakened WBA in the process. Simms nor Wright will have breathing space if they struggle for form whereas last season, their competition was Godden - who scored 1 league goal after September.

@BlueSkiesForever what are your thoughts on this signing?

I don’t want to go over board and say it’s the best signing ever but I think his experience of the league and the pace he’s got is very good at this level, particularly when you consider Simms is our main striker, having him as backup/alternate would be brilliant in my humble opinion.

Don't you think we need someone like Gerd Muller but slightly less stats?

Simms was £3.5m + add ons, not 8. Wright was £7.7m

Just not sure we needed to spend £2-3m on an average championship striker. Could have been a bit more adventurous in the market.
