So what Now? The Public don't care. The council can sit tight. It is clearly only SISU that can change things. I think the JR will bring nothing and see it as an annoying distraction. I hope RobS reports back to SISU that he tried and failed to motivate people. My wish: SISU Tell ML to stop his snide remarks ( help no-one ), drop the JR ( their evidence has been shown to be irrelevant ) and announce their willingness to negotiate a way forward ( no preconditions and in good faith ).
I see no other way in the short term.
BTW, no deposit required in local elections. The thing that does cost is registering a party which is something we didn't have time to do (takes 20 working days) and there was some discussion as to whether we'd have got more 'casual votes' with Get Cov Back to the Ricoh on the ballot paper.
It shows the Coventry public don't care if we stay in Northampton or not.
Personally, I was disappointed Mr Patton didn't turn up to the count.
I would have been interested to meet him face to face.

I was surprised that this didn't make the CT TBH.
Be interesting to see how the Council Evening Telegraph cover the story
Well you've had his phone number for a few weeks and you could have come to the Council House on 10 May too!
"Talks still not happening" isn't much of a story to be honest.

Simon has already tweeted that it was a 'disappointing' result so take a guess
Lucas got 15% of the vote. 85% did not elect the person who leads the council. Given that only a tiny percentage of the electorate can be bothered to vote for the leader what do you expect?
How about...'Council reject 11th hour talks' is.
I definitely haven't tweeted that...

Keep clutching? So this result helps does it? Are we back?
I'm not sure taking additional time to cover a protest of that size, or to interview a relatively minor candidate, could be justified editorially.
We have limited resources.

28% turnout.
Sometimes people get the government and local council they deserve.
Ouch!
More important issues like a barber who did somebodies hair over 30 years ago going on for reporters?

Does it not occur to you that to having Cov in Cov most would like, but not enough to waste a vote !!
Oh look, the usual lot shuffling over the result of a by-election. As usual more interested in the Council than the club. You'd have thought the main interest would have been on CCFC, but sadly no.
I've tried pointing this out to grendull but as usual he's more interested in AL than CCFC.
Apologies – you tweeted 'not good', not 'dissapointing'.

Does that make sense? If it helped get "Cov In Cov" then it wouldn't be a wasted vote, would it?
