Bright and Robins (3 Viewers)

Bright needs to be moved on now along with Hilsner, Jobello, Pask, Shipley and Jones.

Jones is a good player but just doesnt fit in with our system, and he needs to be playing regularly. Hence I feel it's time for him to seek first team footy.

He wouldn’t get an answer, have you not learned yet this is not how Robins works.
Why can’t you just admit it’s been a terrible signing? The bloke is a twat, he’s been given a golden opportunity and he can’t even be arsed to put the effort in on the training ground. Bin the lazy prick off, he’s stealing a wage from us. I was in the ‘give Bright a chance’ brigade but I’ve had enough of the waster

It's not as easy as that. If they are under contract we need to find someone who is prepared to sign them. In this market post covid that is highly unlikely.

Jones has the ability to fit in this side but depends on whether he can fully recover from the injuries.

Hilssner in particular you can’t blame if he sees his contract out here

I watched him play a couple of weeks ago in an U/23 game looked fit was okay but admittedly not great but don’t think we have had another U/23 game since. Do you have faith in Mark Robins to make the decision or not ?

We had the Birmingham senior Cup and he didn't figure.
Calling this out as a bad signing isn't an indictment of Robins. No manager gets it 100 percent right. Robins sucess rate is decent.

This has nothing to do with my faith in Robins.
Using Todd Kane as an example, he hadn’t played since March. Yet he made sure he stayed in top physical condition and didn’t look all that rusty when he played his first few games.
Bright should be fit enough to make the match day squad by now, I think that speaks volumes for Robins faith in Bright.

Bright was always a work in progress signing based on a number of things, had his personal issue which set him back a month or so and now playing in the reserves. I’m certain if he isn’t up to standard Robins will act on that but I’m sure he will have a bit longer yet.

How would he act on it? He has a contract, unless they’ve inserted some tight break clauses he’ll be around until someone wants him.

Which could be for the next two years. I really hope he proves everyone wrong because he’s got loads of natural ability but he has zero heart or commitment, basically a mercenary

Precisely, so why bleat on it on here, let’s see what happens and trust Robins’s judgement. Bright has gone from having a contract cancelled in India training and getting fitter to playing for the reserves.
Obviously the next step is the toughest especially considering the way we are playing. But as said that’s the managers decision, I’ll respect that whatever it is.

I'm still looking at the Bright side of life.

Given the club haven't said anything about his woes recently, I fully expect him to start tomorrow for the U23s.

Be interesting if he doesn't.

We have limited budget and it was a gamble that might have worked. Robins got a tune out of him before. Nobody could have predicted the start we'd have and we're shopping in Aldi rather than M&S. Sometimes Aldi have great value, but sometimes you take a chance and don't like it or go back to your tried and trusted. It hasn't worked, it probably won't now, but some of the reactions on here are strange to say the least.

Unfortunately for some it’s almost wishful thinking he fails, I’m an optimist I’ve seen his ability and yes it was a couple of divisions lower a gamble perhaps but if it fails what have we lost, some wages, but IF and yes it could be a big if, he produces what I think he is capable of it could carry us forward perhaps even to dreamland.

Yeah this is my viewpoint too.

It was a punt. Sometimes punts come off, sometimes they don't.

Looks like this one won't come off. I certainly won't be berating Robins if it doesn't.

Bright came from the random mad section in the middle of Aldi. Go in for a pint of milk and come out with a 2 tonne car jack and a pair of fishing waders.😜

I suppose MR knew signing him was a low risk high reward gamble and thought it was worth that risk. His ability got him that chance and the reward we all knew what that could bring, but the risk was always a question of desire and was it going to equal the talent he has.

For whatever reason something is not right and it's not working out at present. He is being past by players that have been injured, players who have fought everyday not be ignored or by young players performing for the U23's.

At this minute the gamble hasn't paid off and only time will tell us if it does. I hope I'm wrong but the signs are not good for him, his talent alone is not enough to get him in our squad. We have a really talented squad that never give up, show desire and determination to win and look completely invested in the club and fans. If he has this then matched with ability we will be better for it, if he doesn't have the desire I for one do not want to see him anywhere near our 1st team.
