Bright and Robins (5 Viewers)

Really wanted this signing to work out. Going by Footballing ability it’s a waste of potential, as he’s far better than Kastaneer, Jobello, Hilssner. But I think this ship has sailed.

Still hope I’m wrong.

Bright came from the random mad section in the middle of Aldi. Go in for a pint of milk and come out with a 2 tonne car jack and a pair of fishing waders.😜
Brilliant post! (And let's be honest, the reason we all love Aldi too) :)

Will when I get an answer, while I’m at it what’s your opinion on Mark Robins ?

Perhaps when you give an opinion on Bright and stop waffling around the issue he is a lazy useless piece of shite

You can have opinions on players and Robins previous comments suggest Bright isn’t putting the effort in. Our opinions on the manager are irrelevant as this is about Bright. Stop being weird

So what’s your opinion on the bloke who signed him ?
I have already said what my opinion on Robins is.
Bright being a lazy arsehole doesn’t change my view on the manager. Robins has basically said Bright isn’t putting the effort in. It’s been a poor signing. It happens, Robins won’t get everything right, that’s life

Again irrelevant - I thought Sillett was a fantastic manager - I thought Martin Lane who he signed was shite and Drinkell expensive shite

I trust Robins anyway. If he says Bright is training well and pushing for a first team spot I’d trust his decision. The fact that this hasn’t happened speaks volumes on where Bright is at in the pecking order

Yeah. The answer Robins gave when asked about Bright a while ago was very similar in tone to one Nuno gave just before he bombed him out of Wolves.

Every manager in the history of the game gets signings wrong, it goes with the territory.

33 pages in and one line sums up the whole shitshow perfectly :)

To be honest, I don't think it's a shit show. It's a signing that hasn't worked. They happen.
It's only the ridiculous levels of faith put in to a player with a history of poor attitude which has blown it out of proportion.

It does. This one admittedly baffles me more given Bright led us a merry dance a season or two earlier when he teased us about signing, and Robins doesn't seem the forgiving type.

Bright or his agent must be very persuasive speakers!

And also on the other side the palpable desperation to prove that they were 'right' that he's garbage. Same as Biamou.

I'm actually gutted he's garbage, I love a bit of a maverick. Basically I like cunts as long as they do it on the pitch, but alas...

I still don't think he's garbage- more like the guy has a screw loose somewhere and/or just couldn't give a shit

Well yeh he has the ability to not be garbage but his attitude is a steaming pile of it, with some faecal matter thrown in.

I remember it coming out that we gave Lee Fowler a contract of £8kpa when he was 18, before he'd made a first team appearance, to ward off interest.

If I'm honest, at a young age if I could earn good money without having to really try (and Bright's been able, it seems, to get by on ability up till now wrt getting a professional contract) I'd probably have struggled to motivate myself, and not be mature enough to realise that at some stage the chances would dry up... and if I applied myself I could earn even more. I'd have been too busy with the hookers and coke, I reckon.

In recent weeks Bright has come back from his personal issue, trained, got himself fit to play for the reserves, watched him v Sheffield Wednesday nothing to shout home about, but seemed fit enough, had the two week international break and I hope he plays in tomorrow’s U/23 game. My money is on Robins making the decision on him not SBT.

Well or the amount of vitriol at the start from some percieved wrong he allegedly did the club a couple of years ago.
It wasn't balanced, but kind of explains a mindset to balance things up and go over the top.

He's an outstanding manager who has made some outstanding signings and made other players better
Unfortunately he's also signed a few duds
Just like Alex Ferguson
Disagree. I think Alex Ferguson did okay.

In his position I'd have fuckedit up for myself, no two ways about it.
But I wasn't and he is and he's throwing his chance away unfortunately.

I never knew we gave Lee Fowler 8k a week. Pretty much sums up the club at the time mind you.
