Someone mentioned the Sporting Kansas City ground and i was amazed it is only a touch shy of 19,000..
I was a there a year ago and its a fantastic stadium.. the atmosphere was great too.

Superb little stadium, if our stadium happens I hope they put proper thought into the design rather than churning out the same old modern day bowl.

Yeah you could just have multiple tiers.
No idea if possible as Im not a stadium designer.
Yeah It had me In tears.
But if the stadium planned easily easily upgradeable they would surely start the build with promotion in mind and if it was the case we did they would just build it with more seats?
Oi wingy, didn't you say Fisher and others had been seen hanging round the Butts not so long ago?
Stadium planned? You've seen the plan's then?
What if we're already re-established ourselves in the championship (that could start as early as next season) and we get back upto the 20K we were once experiencing in the championship? What if the unthinkable happened, we made the playoffs and went up to the premier league just in time to move to our 12k stadium?

Yeah agree, 15,000 for where we are now is fine. But if the ground would take a couple of years to complete, then wouldn't we be expecting to be in the Championship by then and then 15,000 wouldn't be enough.
All fine if a 15,000 seater stadium could just be conjured up now for us, this very instant, but it obviously doesn't work like that unfortunately. If we're looking to move up the leagues, which is what the club and TM are surely looking to do, then to move into a much, much smaller capacity ground circa 12,000 would be madness.
We seem ambitious at the moment to get of this league. I'll be bitterly, bitterly disappointed if we're not in the Championship in 2 years.
15,000 would be ideal for us now, this minute in League 1 and nowhere else.
No I meant if the stadium was planned to be easily upgradeable. Which it should be.
Surely in the time it was being built they would just change it at the time of the build instead of building it as 12k and then upgrading? They would have a plan to make it x amount if we got promoted at the time of the build.

Ricoh or Nothing.
Thats the choice we have at the moment.
Why would it? I know the stadium that they were talking about was modular (I think that's what they called it) but that was for a green fields sight with plenty of spare space for forward planning and potential for expansion. The butts doesn't offer that luxury. It's tight and constricted. I wouldn't mind betting that any stadium built there would have to be bespoke as would any extension. Which would mean that not only would any expansion be costly it would also be time consuming and temporarily at least reduce capacity as happened during HR's redevelopment.
Surely they are all bespoke? If a stadium is being built, then if it was built with a view to expansion it would make it easier wouldn't it?
Not the one SISU put a picture out of. It was designed as a bog standard stadium made in modular form. In fact wasn't the picture just a rehash of someone else's stadium?
.... and that picture is all we have seen from them.
I always thought there was no room at the Butts but when I went to collect ticket the other week was amazed, easily the size of Highfield Rd, the only thing would be car parking, but you have the memorial park and ride, town centre parking and maybe even Hearsall common as makeshift car parking
How about building it on Hearsay common
The Swedbank Stadion in Malmo at €79m a bit cheaper, nice stadium!
It'll never happen Toni. Not whilst SISU are here.
Firstly and I'm sure I've mentioned this before to you that I'm only Toni at the weekends. Secondly we can't run the risk of SISU throwing the club out of the frying pan into an even hotter fire. If they're going to build a stadium what's been suggested it's going to send the club backwards not forwards even from where we are now. We can't gamble that they aren't going to build and sit back only to find out that they are building a stadium that's not fit for purpose.
Fact is, you don't need to be a genius to do the maths but still this is beyond you.
It's certainly beyond Sisu.
Perhaps you should lend them your crystal ball ?
He will once this thread dies down, he and some others on here have no interest in footballItalia. Piss off back to the wasps forum you crank
Exactly! And looking at the Butts Arena on Google Earth, there seems plenty of room for another 3 x 4k stands...
