He was put on the spot and let's face it he's not the most articulate lad.
During his time here he was an immensely positive force overall and i wish him well but the fact is the club has probably moved on beyond him now and I genuinely believe that in Rudoni we've got a far better player to see us through the next few years.

Not sure why people are getting worked up over a few nothing comments in an interview, O'Hare's career with us was very meh. He had his moments of brilliance but in general was very average, the likes of Allen and Godden although not as easy on the eye, contributed far more than O'Hare did. He has never been the best player at the club in the 5 years he's been here. I really can't see where he would fit in now, a slight tweak in formation and the signing of Rudoni has made him redundant. I genuinely think we're pushing beyond his ability now, he was not worth breaking the bank to keep, Thanks for the effort but don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Still say thanks for what he’s done for us over most of the 5 years, missed far more ‘sitters’ than most, when he first came back this year he was on fire, but that dropped off. If I was a Sheffield utd fan I would be worried that we have just signed someone who couldn’t get a regular start in a championship team that finished the season quite poorly after that interview.

COH suffered serious injury doing his job for the club
I can never understand why some fans then expect the player to be grateful for being paid during the course of their contract while they are out of action as a result
Putting aside the pain and discomfort of the injury, subsequent operation and rehab players talk of the despair they feel in such circumstances
He also missed out on the chance of a PL contract as a result - for which we would have also received a substantial transfer fee
The whole thing was very sad

Not sure that's right in either case.

'Utter dross' is very strong terminology - there were far worse players that played for us in that period. He was also not helped by his managers choosing to play him on the wing, which he was clearly not suited to, rather than up front where his goals record indicated he should play.

As for being lauded, I think it was more a case of him being a player who clearly gave 100% at a time when there were plenty of more talented players who didn't seem to do so, and by supporters recognising that.

The frustrating thing in that respect is that the 'plan' was, I believe, flog O'Hare to Burnley for £5mil, spend the £850k on Rudoni as his replacement.

tbf I guess Huddersfield have given him those couple of seasons getting up to speed in the Championship, and for all we know that cash might have kept SISU here until now!

Mark McNulty, Doyle, Bigi etc are players that were never really good enough to get us to the premier league but in the league that we were in they played their part in helping move us up a rung of the ladder. For that reason they will be remembered for their influence in helping getting us to where we are now.
I'm not sure that O'Hare comes into that category. He's technically a better player than any player we had before we gained promotion to the championship but his contribution to our continued success wasn't enduring enough. He needed a other season and decided against it. For that reason, despite his rapport with singers' corner, he'll never be particularly remembered as someone who made any particular contribution to our promotion, should that happen..
