Ahhh yea the good old days when Grendal mocked us for saying Hamer was a very good player. Miss those days. It's funny though you never bring up that Grendel said hamer wasn't worth 5m and he ended up going for 15m. Why are you scared of him?
We don't know all of the circumstances in any of these deals and never will. But these days not knowing things doesn't seem to stop people expressing their opinions or feeling it's fine to criticise players unjustly.Really? I think he just got a late offer he couldn't refuse - Mark Robins said as much himself. It is obvious Hamer still loves the club.
The trouble is footballers are doing a job and make decisions around their careers.
Fans just view things through fan loyalty to a club and bias. Fans judgement are often tainted by blind devotion and petulance.

Don't even know what you think your achieving here. Id rather be 5m(hamer) and 10m(gyok) off 6 months before they left rather than laugh at posters who said we could get 5m for him.To be fair you did at least think he and Gyokeres would start bids at £5 million
Gyökeres Bids
£15m would be more than fair, to expect £25m is madness IMO, nobody would pay that Why not £25m? We stand to lose more than that if we don't get promoted and unless we happen upon another above average striker its a backward step for us to sell our best players including our top scorerwww.skybluestalk.co.uk

Some people must have a sad life just trying to get one over someone.
I dunno if you are just dumb or just so desperate to look right even when you know you are wrong.
We keep going on about the past, move on. Cal O'Hare whether he stays or not won't be the determining factor that gets us promoted, and the proof is in the pudding, just look at the closest we came 2 seasons ago, we did it without O'Hare.
We got to a play off final because of 5 players, Doyle, Mcnally, Sheaf, Hamer and Gyok.
The defensive capabilities of Doyle, Mcnally and Sheaf, coupled with Hamers ability to drive us forward and find Gyok was a simple but effective style we adopted and teams just couldn't find an answer.
O'Hare has never, ever been Coventry City's standout player. We like to romanticise about the way he plays but, yes he passes the eye test but the guy is a mile off Premier League standards.
Hamer was levels above O'Hare ability wise, did Hamer have a stand out season in the Premier Legaue? No.
Cal isn't worth 20/30 grand a week, so if a Leeds United, Burnley, Sheffield United or Luton are silly enough to offer that sort of money for him then my advice to him would be take the money lad. Enjoy trebling your salary, playing half the amount of games and predominantly warming the bench.
Funnily enough, I can actually see where you’re coming from. This is another Sheaf myth.
During our onslaught to the playoffs, Sheaf was injured for most of it and didn't play. The majority of the games he was out actually coincided with our good form. This was, as you say, also alongside COH being out of the team and Hamer getting further forward, providing a better level of end product.
In the last two seasons our best form has come around a lot when both of the players I have mentioned have been out of the team.
That's a shocking thread really , him and vik practically dragged us to almost the Premier league when all is said and doneGlowing positivity all round here
Hamer
Absolutely ridiculous. 26 yellows and 3 reds in 91 apps now His disciplinary record is shocking and he’s let the team down badly todaywww.skybluestalk.co.uk
See id argue that the reason Hamer got forward more was because Gyokeres occupied 2/3 players a game, rather than O’Hare and Sheaf being missing. This is another Sheaf myth.

Harry kane cost Bayern the bundesliga mate didn't you know? These are the specific four words the psychiatrists report will identify as beginning of my slide into madness.
You. Can’t. Take. A. Team. Statistic. And. Apply. It. To. An. Individual.

Might wanna put a sarcasm label on this mate before it's used in a spreadsheet 3 years from nowWe only get promoted with Kastaneer in the squad, get him back Doug.
Yep, funny how we are more than happy to sign players from lower league teams and offer them more money. That's totally fine.We don't know all of the circumstances in any of these deals and never will. But these days not knowing things doesn't seem to stop people expressing their opinions or feeling it's fine to criticising players unjustly.
It's strange how any player leaving us or not signing is just greedy and entirely motivated by money, even when they sign for a team in a higher division or one with much better prospects. And even if they do go for financial reasons, I am sure most of us have changed jobs for a higher salary.
From the moment he came back COH has deflected questions about signing a new deal …. He had no desire to stay.Yep, funny how we are more than happy to sign players from lower league teams and offer them more money. That's totally fine.
If we sign EMC or Rudoni etc because they want a step up and more money, then we can hardly criticise if O'hare or Sheaf do the same.
That's football, every player is looking to maximise their earning potential, and that means climbing the ladder to the Premier league.
In the case of O'hare, he played his part in getting us back into the championship, he cost us nothing, and we had a chance (allegedly) to extend his contract when he came back from injury. But We've moved on now, i believe weve improved, so good luck to the lad wherever he ends up.
That's his perogative. I'm sure his agent has been advising him to keep his options open. From the moment he came back COH has deflected questions about signing a new deal …. He had no desire to stay.
