Sorry, but if he goes to Sheffield United it's like sticking 2 fingers up to the club and supporters. The club that helped him heal back to fitness and offered him a much improved financial contract. After tax any improved contract from Sheffield United will be hardly much more. He is going to a rival club in the Championship not a club playing a higher standard of football.

no, if he goes to sheff utd it's because the interest from the clubs he thought wanted him has just evaporated. maybe they can't fit him in, or maybe it's questions over his past injuries.
i feel sorry for the guy, tbh, it that's what happens.

You can also add on a very hefty signing on fee, and no doubt a nice big bonus if they achieve promotion.

If its true that we could of secured his services for £20k a week then I think we've missed out on a player with proven quality at this level. £20k a week is £3million over a 3 year contract. When you consider what we paid for the likes of Kitching (just 1 example) and add his wages on top then O'hare would of been good value imo. We also paid £4.5million for EMC (plus wages) who is unproven at this level.

He was good on his day but also had 2 long term injuries. Despite a lot of good play his stats are pretty poor. It about the budgets and I can easily see why we don't value him at 20k a week.

Also whoever he ends up at will be paying a massive signing on bonus.

Time to move on

has any player left at end of contract, not found a club, and resigned back with the original club?

im not suggesting im hopeful, im just interested, wonder if agents would reach back with tails between their legs (i imagine its never happened as it would show poorly from te club/manager etc, and fans would be livid)

I'm sure it has happened, but I wouldn't want him back personally. He flatters to deceive, not as good as he thinks he is and would the club even want him? He's been replaced by someone younger and better in Rudoni. With the supposed change in formation to a 4-3-3, we would be fitting round pegs in square holes if he were to come back.

No, I just had to get that song out of my head. Despite my longstanding hatred of SU, I find this more funny than anything, it's an absolutely massive downgrade in everything except money. Can't blame anyone for taking it, but it won't be long before he's lurking in someone's corporate box at the CBS.

I think Jordan Willis wanted to do that when we were in League 1, where Luton were all lined up to sign him but then pulled out and left him in limbo. No other Championship clubs were interested so his agent asked us, but by then we had already signed McFadzean as his replacement, so he ended up signing for Sunderland and remained in League 1.

Wilfred Ndidi at Leicester was trying to move for more money but has just signed on again, apparently hoping for big Saudi money but it didn’t come so he stayed.

He thinks he is a better player than he is - Championship is his level end of.
Absolutely gutted he didn’t sign at least one more year for us seeing as we lost a year through his injury.

Reading people talking about him like an ex that's ditched them is getting dull. If he goes to a team that's been in the EPL twice recently for lots more money, what's there to question? Why is it a surprise? Why question his agent? etc. Some of you are weird.

He's not a kid getting bad advice. He's a 26 year old after what might be the only contract he gets of that value. Given what he's been through with injury, I don't blame him one bit for making money a priority. He'll probably be a starter there as well. Odd takes.

I liked Jordan Willis, we had some good moments with him, he chose to move on and we progressed after he left.

I liked Cal O'Hare, we had some good moments, it looks like he's chosen to move on and I trust that we will be able to progress

Gudmunson did for Burnley this year

Icelandic winger- announced he’s left and then re-signed him

If he goes to a basket case club where the takeover doesn't happen who will have bugger all chance of promotion then his agent has to be seriously questioned. The high value contract is shit in these circumstances if he could have matched it elsewhere.

...if he could have matched it elsewhere.

That's a big if, though. I mostly don't get people taking it personally, as if a footballer making a choice with their own short and long term interests at heart is strange or cruel somehow.
