Eccles drops outSheaf and Eccles have obviously been excellent in the last game, but if we are signing a marquee player to replace Hamer - who is getting dropped? You could argue there isn't much between those two.
Seems like it might be an uncomfortable conversation topic for some on here, but in reality it is going to happen if we splash out £5m on a central midfielder. There won't be room for everyone.
Has to say that. He's their player till he isntSomeone needs to tell the Barnsley manager because he reckons Styles is playing for them tomorrow night

I mean to be fair, we've had a generational occurrence where our two best players have been sold, generating £35m (ish). We will have done in 2 to 3 months what most clubs would take several years to do.
At same time as not having lots of players we need to try to shiftI mean to be fair, we've had a generational occurrence where our two best players have been sold, generating £35m (ish).
Equally we didn't just chance upon those players, we developed them into players worth 8 figure fees. Credit for that goes firmly to MR and the coaching staff.I mean to be fair, we've had a generational occurrence where our two best players have been sold, generating £35m (ish).
Identifed by the previous scouting network?Equally we didn't just chance upon those players, we developed them into players worth 8 figure fees. Credit for that goes firmly to MR and the coaching staff.
Correct but the improvement shown by Gyo in particular in 2.5 seasons was remarkable. Hamer a bit more gradual but both became far better players over their time here.Identifed by the previous scouting network?
I’ve supported Coventry since I was about 5 (about 50 years) my support has never wavered, but it has to be said most of that time has been spent firmly in the doldrums, on the rare occasions the club has done well and performed on a level ‘and sometimes above the level of it’s peers it makes me a happier man.Because negativity and realism is frowned upon here. Its all positivity, rainbows and delusion. Then just say 'in Robins we trust'.
Keep doing you mate, fuck the clique.
Barnsley fans on their forum suggesting Kitching and Styles will be completed this week for £5m-5.5m
No doubt about that, great ball winner who always takes up the right positions, opposition players must get sick of the sight of him, if he could improve his pass completion he’d be high end premier league imo.I mean literallt statistically over the last 18 months hes been the best ball winner in the league. Il find the stats give me a few minutes
You just summed yourself up, not everyone has a life full or rainbows and candyfloss unfortunately. You're a stronger man than me if you've only ever have a good time. Must hurt being happy all the time though? How do you deal with negative things? Just laugh them off and drink some hot chocolate. Everyone is different and your post sounds a little patronising.I’ve supported Coventry since I was about 5 (about 50 years) my support has never wavered, but it has to be said most of that time has been spent firmly in the doldrums, on the rare occasions the club has done well and performed on a level ‘and sometimes above the level of it’s peers it makes me a happier man.
It honestly has a real impact on my real life away from following City, good times are even better, happy times happier, chores more tolerable, it just makes my life an all round more enjoyable experience.
So genuine question mate, if it doesn’t do thiswhat is the point ?
Well they cant reject much for Styles if we meet his release clauseYeah just seen Barnsley have rejected bids, looking to up the money.

Just having enough for a full bench is quite novel to be honest!Quite right, but I think - as shown with Godden - if we’re bringing players in with sizeable fees it doesn’t make them an automatic starter.
There’s also the horses for courses argument that we can vary our lineup based on opposition/fitness. We’ve not had that option as long as I’ve been a Cov fan.
You know nothing about my life but if you did ‘you’d know it definitely isn’t full of candy floss and rainbows, but that’s another story, to be honest my life, your life or anyone else’s life is irrelevant in this instance. You just summed yourself up, not everyone has a life full or rainbows and candyfloss unfortunately. Highly suspect if we bid 3m for him they would acceptKitching
More than one club have probably met the release clause fee, Bristol City I expect.Kitching
Bristol had agreed a £1m fee for a Bolton midfielder but he turned them down.More than one club have probably met the release clause fee, Bristol City I expect.
It took him some time to get into competitive thinking; he used to hold on to the ball and get it taken off him and play silly passes that would be intercepted and it’d cost us. His lack of confidence to shoot also cost us opportunities.Honestly think it's those sloppy passes that will stop him performing at a higher level. If he could rid them from his game you could see him in the prem.
So then it’s a question of would you rather play for ‘fucking work harder’ Robins or sour faced NigeMore than one club have probably met the release clause fee, Bristol City I expect.

Eccles I thinkI saw that video. Any clue on who he was yelling at? I have a feeling it was Haji.
Robins seems to only chase players who he’s already sure fit in with his ideas & work ethic, think it’s always just as much about their temperament, willingness to learn and positive attitude as it is ability. So then it’s a question of would you rather play for ‘fucking work harder’ Robins or sour faced Nige
It was first half down the left side. Looked like Eccles or da silva he was going in on.I saw that video. Any clue on who he was yelling at? I have a feeling it was Haji.
Also a track record of improving young players now. That helps a lot.Robins seems to only chase players who he’s already sure fit in with his ideas & work ethic, think it’s always just as much about their temperament, willingness to learn and positive attitude as it is ability.
Hamer wasnt leaving yet in Robins interview last week eitherInteresting from the Barnsley manager
Thought it was Palmer myself. It was first half down the left side. Looked like Eccles or da silva he was going in on.
Not going to say "no fucking point in playing him again this there?"Interesting from the Barnsley manager
Michael Carrick said that about Akpom effectivelyNot going to say "no fucking point in playing him again this there?"
Also nit much he can really do if he does indeed have a release fee and someone meets that fee.
Aye, but he'd downed tools and hadn't played any football at all.Michael Carrick said that about Akpom effectively
