I can't agree with some of your extreme low marks, but glad to see you've recognised the contribution from EMC. He's a good player and I really don't understand some of the harsh criticism he's been getting.
His awful shot in the second half notwithstanding, in the first half he was one of very few who had turned up. Worked hard defensively, still takes far too many touches going forward but I could see some promise. Pity is basically nobody else showed up in the first half and everyone looked lost at sea in the second.

Struggling to fathom how Bassette missed what was virtually a tap in first half.

Collins 5 did nothing wrong but nothing special.
Dasilva 5 one of his better games but still the
weak link.
Van Ewijk 4 he has been poor for several weeks
Thomas 6
Binks 6.5
Sheaf 6.5 inconsistent passing
Eccles 5 poor today by his standards
Rudoni 6.5
Mason Clarke 6.5 well taken goal but looks
clumsy and not at this level yet
Sakamoto 5 offered little and not helped by VE's
passing
Bassette 6 started well but faded always the
nearly man.
Torp 5 well taken penalty but showed little else
not physical enough
Simms 6 brought some energy and his effort and
directness got the pen.
Asanti 4

Nevermind we are better than our league position, we are where we deserve to be. The players need to man up.

We showed Lampard how we have played all season. No false dawn. We didn't even deserve a point today, the draw flattered us.

Early days in this new chapter, but I hope Lampard and his team now realise there is work to do. We are where we are on merit.

he didn’t used to be, was amazing to watch as you wouldn’t know what he would do. Since the injury he’s been half the player he was.
He was getting predictable before his injury. Beat his man then cut back and try and beat him again. It might be a crowd pleaser but it kills our momentum and he often loses the opportunity to put the ball in. Defenders were starting to read him before his injury.

Thought Lampard's post match interview was pretty good. Being honest about the play, particularly in the second half.

Why does it have to be either or? I disagree strongly with Torch on Sheaf, but if you think Eccles has been poor this season I don't know what to say. He's been far our most consistent player and improved massively the past season.
It’s a sad state of affairs that Eccles has been our best midfield performer this season-by that the bar really hasn’t been set very high at all and tells us really all we need to know about our other midfielders.

Rudoni & EMC were good. Rudoni's skill rescued a number of 50/50's
Everybody else a bit meh. MVE in particular has lost his mojo.
Collins distribution remains a cut above - shame he can't do the main job he is employed to do, stop shots
Simms made a difference
Torp added some aggro into midfield. Sheaf -Rudoni-Torp next time.

We can criticize the midfield and attack, but we are scoring goals. This should have been a poor performance that earned a two-nil win. But crass bad defending meant it was 2-2.

This is a variation on what I said on the match thread but if you keep doing the same thing - fielding Binks, Da Silva and Thomas in the back line - then don't be surprised if you get the same result - concede 2 goals a game

Collins 5
MVE 4
Thomas 5
Binks 5
JDS 6 he was positionally weird with the ball which I assume was tactical but was ok when he had it
Eccles 4 didn't look at all like he knew what he was doing
Sheaf 5 taking far too many touches again and again, if you're going to be a progressive passer do it
Rudoni 6 thought he got into some ok positions first half but did leave us exposed in midfield
Sakamoto 6 nice assist but did nothing afterwards, being inverted like he was just exposes his lack of physicality and nullifies his partnership with MVE
Bassette 5 got to score at least one of the chances he had, movement good otherwise and we need to start looking for it a bit quicker
EMC 6 scored albeit as ever as mishit shot, looked one of our better players though

Subs
Torp 6 passed the ball forward
Simms 6 good drive into the box for the penalty, need a lot more of that

Collins not good enough. His shot to goals conceded ratio must be shocking. First goal today centre of the goal a yard from him doesn't get near it. 2nd goal a shot from 25 yds, doesn't get near it. It was a decent shot but one he should save. Terrible positioning, he's literally stood on the goal line. Should be very close the his 6 yard line to narrow the angle. The only other decent shot they had was pretty much straight at him and he paried it into the centre of the goal where we got lucky there was no one following in.

D's Silva decent touch and pass, can't defend. Never tried to overlap toady and there was space too as EMC kept going inside.

MVE his worst game for us. Terrible today.

Binks Can pass and carry the ball, not a great defender.

Thomas can defend but couldn't pass wind. The opposition let him have the ball knowing it's a 50% chance of him passing it to them if it's more than a 5 yard pass.

Sheaf still not fully fit. Tried hard but nothing really came off.

Eccels Poor today and rightly subbed off.

Rudoni Ran around a lot but not really effective.

Tats other than the ball to EMC for goal he was dreadful . Hasn't got going this season.

EMC well taken goal put in a few good crosses. His best game for us so far.

Norman chased loss causes, threw himself to the floor a few times, missed a free header 6 yards out from the best cross of the afternoon.

Subs

Asaante did nothing.

Simms completely starved of service, won a penalty from a decent run and cross.

Torp. . Well taken pen, can't remember much else.

A meh performance all round.

MVE looked like he didn't want to be here, throwing his arms up at any missed pass.
Liked simms when he came on, used his body well and done well to "earn" the penalty

That’s my worry with Simms. Imagine being a striker who’s just won a penalty and then let’s someone else take it. That’s what sets players like Gyokeres apart, he’s grabbing that ball and there is no one that can stop him. Simms needs some of that attitude.

I always find that whoever gets taken down they are a bit rattled so having a different player can bring a calmer head to slot it home.

However I do think it would be a good rule change that whoever is fouled has to take the penalty… that would make things a bit more interesting

By the way, how come Collins came in from the cold? Were the other two injured at the time or did Robins bomb squad him and then Carr brought him in from the cold?

Sakamoto and Van Ewick were like schoolboys today. Light weight and poor passing. Their only saving grace was chasing the ball they’d just lost To Cardiff players.

Derby was frustrating, but we were unlucky to concede 2 goals and they were a worse side.

Yesterday, Cardiff should have beaten us. We couldn't pass the ball to one another, the players were happy to pass backwards from 30 minutes in and there was zero leadership or ambition.

There was a point after the second half started that we couldn't get near them. Embarrassing.

Give Eccles some credit.

just got to hope Freiburg come back in for him
Its not only his physical limitations but JDS has poor positional sense. Both JDS and Tatsu showed they couldn't cope with Cardiff's physicality yesterday unable to effectively challenge and easily pushed off the ball

Sadly, Dasilva signed a 4 year deal, he isn't going anywhere.
People keep saying this but he seems to have quite a lot of admirers among different coaches and managers (including our own, according to reports a few years ago). I imagine someone would take him if we made him available.

He's had harsh criticism because we all had high hopes for him, and he cost £4.5million and was a top player in league 1.
Since coming here he's been less than impressive (to put it mildly)

Tbf, he was much improved yesterday, when played in his preferred position, and hopefully his confidence will improve having scored his first goal.

First half was cagey. Second half was dire. Absolutely no urgency and played like we were playing out a comfortable lead. Far too many individual errors. Practically no penetration at all.

Collins 5 Spills every shot. Decent shot for second but didn't get near it. If I was an opposition coach I'd be telling my players to shoot whenever the opportunity presented itself.
MvE 4.5 Sloppy passing, wasn't an effective forward outlet at all.
Dasilva 4.5 Gets caught out of position by the ball in behind every time. Easy to see why he's targeted.
Binks + Thomas 5 Spent most of the game passing the ball left and right across the defence, but we still managed to concede twice.
Eccles 5 Didn't stamp any authority on the game at all.
Sheaf 5 Same as Eccles, but with some loose passing thrown in
Rudoni 5 Fact the defence kept passing it across each other tells you there wasn't much being offered from the midfield. Anonymous for large parts
EMC 5.5 Scored with a decent enough finish, even if he didn't hit it as clean as he'd hope. Tried to take on his man but always lost the ball.
Sakamoto 5 Got clattered three of four times then booked for a nothing challenge. Great ball for EMC to score but other than that nothing of note.
Bassette 5.5 Chased and harried defenders, but missed a couple of decent opportunities and falls over far too easily.

Simms 5.5 Actually chased a few times and won the ball that got us the penalty
Torp 5.5 Calm penalty but didn't make much more of an impact than those that started
BTA 5 Didn't notice him do anything of note.
