Exactly. Imagine the outcry if Robins had left after a media outlet had leaked we were sounding out replacements And he had confronted DK. City fans would have said he deserved better treatment etc.

Whilst this is more aimed at some fans rather than the owner (although it may still be applicable), also see similair logic: 'We're too far behind and too far into the season to expect a playoff push now'.

Should have just let Robins try to turn it around if you're just going to write the season off like that.

Am I one of the only ones not fussed by the wait, or feeling impatient?

My stance now is it will happen when it happens. Should have happened before of course, but we are past that now and the new bloke won't have any time to work with the players before Sheff Utd and Burnley.

We all pretty much seem to think it will be Lampard don't we and it's not like there is another club waiting in the wings for him.

If there had been competition with other clubs over a manager, I would be a bit more concerned, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

So this is pretty much me at the moment.

It’s possible to have a short list of potential candidates in mind ready to go without openly shopping around behind the previous managers back. ‘Waiting to see who applies’ is incredibly lower league.

I know all King had to do was speak 5 words publicly for the fanbase to decide he’s the untouchable savour again but I think it’s pretty well earned criticism when he’s the one who was talking about expectations for the season not being met while simultaneously pissing weeks away with a novice interim in charge.
