What a load of nonsense from SISU.... they used the poll as an excuse to re-nter the talks with SISU to save face ! Is SISU that blind not to see that it without supporters or fans, there is no CCFC (except in name only). We supporters ARE CCFC !!!

It's good that talks are to restart, but as OSB says, they are only talks, with no guarantee of a successful outcome. So far, I've been appalled by TF's bullying tactics. I wonder what damage they have done to Sisu's long term aim of getting the Ricoh. ACL and the city council will be very wary of entering negotiations with Sisu over future ownership (or part ownership) of the Ricoh after being subjected to TF's idea of negotiation ('This is what we want, and we won't change our position on that until we get it').

In an acrimonious negotiation like this there are never winners and losers and its not about winners and losers its about the survival of our club. If Fisher gets the club a lower rent and the saving is used to balance the books and making us a viable business then it can only be a good thing. The fact they are talking appears a good thing but it does depend on how constructive the talks are and the willingness of the parties to reach an agreement. Hopefully its not just empty PR and there is an end coming for this dispute and its not just more smoke and mirrors.

agreed!;)

if sisu lower the rate,we should all be thankfull(except ACL utd fans)

Thanks SISU you are great. Thanks for listening to us the fans. It is nothing to do with having no alternative.

Tell us it is because you are listening to us, we will believe you. We really are that thick.

Personally I find it insulting. Like ACL must have found that poor attempt yesterday.

Why are you insulted? As for alternative, there isn't one for either CCFC or ACL which is why it will get sorted. And if it means a healthy reduction in the excessively high rent we pay then it can only be good for the club, the fans and ACL.

Certain sections should stop wishing for oblivion simply so they can say "SISU? I told you so."

I like the games and I'm not stupid

Cyril, I know you are not stupid. However for SISU to tell you they are now negotiating because it is what the fans want. Then they think you and I, are that stupid, that we would swallow that.
This shows you what they think we will and won't believe.
Torch that is why I am insulted.

Torch I don't think anyone needs to say I told you so.

It seems quite obvious to all that SISU will take whatever measure it needs to, in order to get its money back.

One route may suit us the fans. Another route may shaft us.

The decision will be made by SISU they will consider only SISU.

Any decision they make will always be by themselves about themselves.

To dress up any decision they make as we are doing this as it is what the fans want is embarrasing and insulting to the fans.

They are not here for the good of the club or the fans. I am not debating whether they should be or not. The fact is and I think everyone agrees that they are not.

So I would prefer if they did not treat me like a prize twat with statements like that.

And last night a Coventry City FC spokesman revealed: “Happily, we are now talking with ACL. It is clear that this is what the fans want us all to do.

So which is it. They are not conducting talks in the media as that is what we want them to do.

Or is it the talks themselves.

As in all honesty if they are doing what the majority of the fans want. They should accept the 400k offer.

The CET are quoting a club spokesman.

SISU dont like it in the media as they always come off bad. TF started putting it in the media suggesting ACL were going bust

Maybe just maybe. They have understood that we dint really want to see scaremongering etc. And for them to conduct this particular bit of business a bit less openly

Saying that, in all fairness at least we are getting info from the club nowadays

Ok, so looking ahead, it appears as though the rent issue maybe sorted at some point (hopefully), which will be a great relief all round, but i really think that SISU have caused irreparable damage to their relationship with Higgs and the council.
Cant really think that CovCC or Higgs will want to sell the 50% share in ACL to SISU after all this nonsense.
If this was SISU's ultimate aim, i think they've just failed.

And many fans said they didn't want SISU having the stadium anyway. They even wrote to the Council saying just that. So they, at least, will be happy if that is the outcome of all this.

Parkinsons law:
Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.

The deal will be settled just before they leave for christmas holidays.

Oh, and I will be very dissapointed if the deal is not backdated. At the very minimum dated back to the end of last season.

Yeah true we only hear quite simple figures.
Godiva has a great point here

Godiva, please expand. Educate us

That's more or less what I said earlier, Dances. People will now be very wary of getting involved with CCFC or Sisu. As far as getting control of the Ricoh is concerned, TF may have shot himself in the foot.

Didnt see your earlier post, but i think that is a fair conclusion.
TF will be patting himself on the back if this comes off, but in the long term, what's the point of SISU staying if they can't get their grubby hands on our stadium, as surely that is all they're interested in

Higgs want out. SISU are the only possible buyers for the share and I'm sure Higgs can force the councils hand.
Notice that the council aren't saying a great deal like before?

They are the club. The good of Sisu is the good of the club. The only way to get their money back is CCFC either being profitable or having assets that make it sellable. Either of those outcomes are good for fans.
