I don’t. What I’m commenting on is that fact that the SPL is considered the 9th strongest league in the world when it clearly isn’t.

No I get it, I just think it's a poor way of ranking a league... as I say Rangers going on that run to the final is doing all the lifting.

Not really, they need some guide to structuring the competitions and seeding teams.
Surely, as they're European competitions performances in Europe would be what you use?
It also helps smaller teams from smaller nations get a chance if someone from their league punches above their weight for a season or two, surely that's a good thing?

There obviously needs to be some structure, but for the common football fan it is clear that the overall quality of the league does not justify a position of 9th.
Going on the criteria of the model I can see why they are there though.

Gonna go the other way and say that's a bit harsh.

Why, and indeed how, would you create a worldwide coefficient when the leagues from different continents don't compete against each other, (except for the world club cub or whatever the Champions league v Copa Libertadores game is called).

I think coefficient is over last 5 years. So this year is gonna see serie a pick up alot of points with 3 finalists and others going deep
