Why would any club appoint Rooney with his brief and poor record in management so far? Is it because they think, as he's a former big-name superstar player, he'll be able to attract players to the club? Seems naive to believe that, surely seeing him at the helm is gonna put players off moving to Plymouth.

Not so sure, Whittakers performances you could argue have been more eye-catching but I get your point.

Absolutely expecting to be shot down for this but I’m not sure Whittaker’s season stacks up particularly well statistically. He outperformed his xG by miles (suggesting his ‘goals scored’ could be a statistical anomaly) and the rest of his game seems to be middling-to-poor.

Don’t get me wrong, I actually quite like him as a player but those who base their recruitment on hard data could be slightly put off.

Don’t watch anywhere near enough non-Coventry football.

What’s the general view on the Leeds keeper? The few times I’ve seen him he’s looked ropey.

Leeds have more to lose I think. So many of their players won’t want to be playing in the Championship again. Lots on big wages. Lots out on loan returning in the summer.

I think Southampton will win this, got through the fast Leeds start and starting to get control of the ball

I get that, he has scored a lot of high tariff goals this season (wand of a left foot) if I was buying I'd want to see another season's worth of evidence before spunking 30+ million on him probably. Doesn't help that I've only seen highlights + the two 90 minutes against us (that weren't great).

For what it's worth I think he'll train on to bigger and better things, he's clearly got something. Now he needs the consistency as he moves into his mid 20s.

Yep, they also have a boatload out on loan too that won't want to be there.

Fire sale of they loose here, but they will still be favourites to go up next season.
