hey prince your inside scoops from the club offend me more football is about opinions, that was mine, sorry if you took offence from it, that was not the intention PUSB
Bringing someones ethnicity into the debate is not a football opinion.
Why bring colour into it does the colour of someone's skin give you a problem
Being mixed race myself the 'positive discrimination' b*llocks does my head in. Shouldn't even be getting a mention really.
It should come down to ability, although we did appoint Thorn so maybe it doesn't.
It does feel like the Thorn appointment all over again, and it makes me worry. But if Shaw is the right man we don't want to miss out based on what happened with Thorn.
Two completely different managers.
It's tricky, I'd say give him time to prove himself but we can't afford to do that. As much as I like Shaw and his one goal for us was one of the highlights of my CCFC supporting career, I'm being cautious at the moment.
Maybe bring a more experienced manager with a good reputation to support Richard Shaw. Maybe someone such as Steve Coppell or Bobby Gould even. Just to sit in the background and give advice when needed. It would aid his development and provide him with someone to turn to in his hour of need. Just a thought. :thinking about:
Rush of blood to the head
I'm over the moon myself though
It is a bit concerning that people keep going on about Bobby Gould.
Shouldn't get a mention, but there is still plenty wrong in our game. It is about time more was done.
Although I am counted as being white I know where you are coming from. I have an half Asian daughter. Members of my family were racist. Not spoken to a couple of them for nearly 27 years.
There is always a lunatic fringe.
Considering the amount of black players that have been in the game in the last 30 years or so, there really should be a higher proportion of League Managers than there are or have been.
Can't think of too many, only Ince in the top flight, then there was Chris Kamara at Bradford, think he got them promoted on the day of the fire, Keith Alexander at lincoln(sadly died from a brain tumour a couple of years ago), must be others, but can't think of any off the top of my head.
Whatever happens we will never reach the cultish levels of nonsense that surrounded thorn.
It's not that we won that particular game 3-2 that fans are excited about it's the way it was won with an abundance of: skill, flair and attitude spring to mind totally lacking during our 9 win season in 2011/2012 - a completely different ball game was played last night and it was a pleasure just to be there.

There is always a lunatic fringe.
One thing that did concern me about Shaw was in his post match interview when he said he didn't have a clue who to take off with certain players having cramp and Kilbane being old etc! Came across as very engaging but maybe a bit naive to me. Liked his honesty but would prefer someone who knew exactly what to do!
Are managers allowed a sense of humour? Did he make the right decision? Did we win?
It seems to me that the Shaw bashing is slowly starting already. Can't we at least wait until he is named as manager?
