Pretty excited by the potential - TM won't waste money which when one asks about why Eagles has no club then you have to ask why TM had no club. Sometimes the right opportunity doesn't present itself at the level you expect and you have to accept something else - If he signs - he will get full support

I love it when (relative) youngsters with no understanding of how one ages make comments like 'he has lost his pace'.

You don't lose all of your pace as you get older. I can drink a pint just as quick as I could 30 years ago.

It is strange though, he's been consistently linked to us since the season started, even to the extent that some sources were saying he had already signed for us weeks ago. TM must have looked at him seriously previously, its possible something has changed, perhaps his wage demand. If he's not earning at the moment he could even agree to play for nothing on a short contract until January, with a view to earning a decent contract or to put himself in the shop window.
Obviously no way of us knowing the details of why he is suddenly of interest.

He might have been after too much money. Then once the season starts a lot of clubs have none of their budget left for more signings. TM has taken his time though. And 2k a week and working is better than nothing and losing your career.

The pessimistic side of me gets a little wary when a "name" player like this becomes unexpectedly available. How he performed a few years ago is less relevant than where he is at now and why is he available to us in lg 1 if he is so good.

However, the glass is half full for me this time because I trust Mowbray, who is a very shrewd character, to make the right decision on whether to take him on and, as others have suggested, it may well be that Mowbray himself is the attraction for Eagles.

If Eagles still has some slight ambition hopefully we can benefit ..this I believe will show in desire to regain full match fitness and a good attitude if this isn't there then I guess our shrewd manager will say good luck to you but its not here where you will play

We signed Franck Moussa after a trial a few weeks into the season with him not showing in his career that he was much better than League One too and that worked out alright, so I'd rather be optimistic and trust that Mowbray and his team know what they're doing rather than slit my wrists and sob.

i do wonder what mowbray has to do to earn fans trust?
He has most fans trust.....Eagles possibly sees joining us as a duel benefit proposal...help us get promoted then he gets a possible move to a lower ranked premiership club for his last few years of his career which is all good for us PUSB

I just like the idea of us having a player that once replaced Cristiano Ronaldo as a substitute. I'd sign him just for that.

He has no chance of getting in the prem but i agree if he has any ambition he is using us as a stepping stone to bigger and better things to get into the championship similar to Clarke and King. I have no issue with that arrangement, similar to a loan but with more commitment.
