Said vik is the best player In the championship , not far wrong is he

Up there certainly

Could have had him if they offered more than £16m and dodgy flat in Middlesbrough town centre.

Viktor a similar style to dele but an upgrade.

Gyokeres has a lot more pace. He potentially is explosive - his weaknesses need to be worked on but he’s one player we’ve had at this level who a premier league club could sign - he’s the best player we’ve had here for a long long time

I also don't think I've seen a player improve so drastically in such a short period of time after watching his loan spell here , yes I thought he had something but not anywhere near what he's showing .. Big future for him

so much of his work is done turning defenders and running the channels, would he get so much space in the PL?

hes up there with Callum Wilson to me and as he’s already at a higher level than when we sold Wilson we have to value him highly. He’s really good - he takes defenders apart, if we had a quality championship forward like King or juke imagine the damage they’d do

Have to say having just watched that Wilder's assessment was very accurate and he summed up how we play in a single sentence. Said they knew what to do but Dael Fry messed up his lines once and Gyo put the chance away.

Wilson became better as he progressed. Outstanding finisher and before his more recent injuries was faster than any player I've seen play football.

I still personally think Gyok misses too many good chances to be worth the £15m+ some on here suggest. Would an Everton, Leeds, or Leicester type club gamble at that price? Maybe.

Who? Mental if they have
The majority of people here didn’t rate Gyokeres at all when he was on loan, with just a few of us seeing the potential and wanting to keep him. The same person who claimed ‘none of us would care if he never played for us again’ still seems to think we’d be better off selling him. Baffling really, as we've needed someone like Vik for years and he’d be so hard to replace.

(Not in the same class as Callum Wilson though IMO)

Gyokeres reminds me of Whelan with his persistence but lacks the composure. Great player, our best in years :)

What sets gyok apart from a lot of players is he's strong on the wing/channels as well as down the middle. He was originally a winger which I guess is why his finishing was always suspect but he's definitely improving.

All strikers miss chances. What I like about Gyo is when he does miss he doesn’t shy away and let him effect him too much. Even if he doesn’t score his overall game contributes. His movement and the ability to drag defenders into areas they don’t want to be in is vital
