Let him go........his heart isn't at coventry anymore as his performances have proved over the last few weeks. Definately a case of his head being turned by his money grabbing agent!.....Good Luck to the lad and I'm sure he will enjoy warming the bench just like Bigirimana and Westwood for the first two seasons.....We have plenty of cover and Philips looks a really good prospect and IMO will be a better defender
Did make me chuckle how you can spell Bigirimana right but not "Definately" :claping hands:
I reckon if it goes to tribunal we will get maybe 300k.
No doubt it will all be sisus fault but I think we have cover for him
I still can't believe what QPR allegedly paid for him ,was It £650K.To add a bit of perspective here's some of the tribunal fees we've paid in the past...
Robbie Simpson's 40k
Leon Best's 650k up front plus 400k in add ons
Gary Borrowdale's was 400k up front and 250k in add ons.
For Simpson I think Cambridge were robbed. For Best it was about right. As for Borrowdale if he was worth 650k a tribunal will probably smash Bale's transfer record for Christie!
What did we get for Gunnarsson?
I wonder which account the fees for Him and Turner went into?I seem to remember someone saying about £500k, which was probably inclusive of add ons.

This is BAU (business as usual). Most clubs must sell their best players when bigger clubs come-a-calling. The Northampton Sky Blues are no exception.
I thought so, but let's not let common sense get in the way of a jolly good witch hunt.
I think most think it's decent business to sell to be fair, not seen a single person blame Sisu or even the fans for this one.
Of course it would be Sisu's fault. If we were a team playing in our own ground, not constantly dipping in and out of embargo, not constantly in court, not under the threat of total shutdown - he might - just might, think CCFC was a decent place to play football.
Take your head out of the sand Nick. Get your arse off the fence, just for once.

Was that aimed at me? A "witch hunt" for stating the bleedin' obvious that you will get more for good, young, British players if you don't let them get into the last six months of their contract?
Fernando, I'm not suggesting Christie is the same or better than the Gareth Bale of six years ago, but the Gareth Bale of six years ago is not the same as the Gareth Bale of today, or even four years ago for that matter.
The point isn't that players won't move on, the point is some clubs are better at extracting a good return when they have to sell their young players than others. If you point that out here though it seems you get accused of conducting a "witch hunt"
We'll get half a million quid plus ad ons if we're lucky. We're a skint League 1 club and he is out of contract in the summer. It's a must however he must be sold in January if he won't sign a contract; losing the likes of Westie and Gunna in the past for free was a disaster.
You must have missed this, get your head out of the sand
Genuinely did. Was that specifically about Christie or sales in general? I've seen that latter a few times, but not noticed the former.

No sorry, it wasn't aimed at you.
I do think since Waggot has been here we have been better at "bargaining" when it comes to transfers both in and out though.
No it was in this thread after I said:

Lets use your quote in context shall we Nick.
If it goes to tribunal it will definitely be SISU fault for:
a. Not tying him down to a longer contract in the summer after a good couple of seasons ala Westwood, Gunnarsson, King, etc.
b. Not selling him in the summer when we could have achieved a greater fee.
No one is doubting were a selling club but it just appears were not very efficient at it. That is most certainly SISU's fault.
No witch hunt here, just facts.
Doesn't matter if we sold for £200k, half a million, or a million the football team will not see one penny of it AND we lose a player, a very good player, is that what you all call good business. I hope if you read these posts Cyruss you go and tell Waggott to do one stay atleast until the summer and you have the money in your back pocket, not sisu.
